The fourth week of JEMS's Mirrored Masters Women special is Stevie Nicks' solo work. As has been released so far, Fleetwood Mac is one of Millard's favorite groups and has released many great recordings. That's why it makes sense that he went to Stevie's solo show. In 1989, when Mac was on hiatus, she released her fourth solo album, "THE OTHER SIDE OF THE MIRROR." Like her previous albums, it was a huge hit, and in the second half of the same year, she even went on a world tour. So Millard went to Costa Mesa, where the tour visited the West Coast. In 1989, he went to the Pacific Amphitheater in Costa Mesa very often, not just on this day. This is proven by the releases of Neil Young and Bob Dylan at the same venue. That's why Millard knows it well. Here too, he captured Stevie in 1989 with truly amazing quality. So, this time too, the audience was as good as ever, but in the first half of the concert, perhaps due to the sound output from the venue, the performance centered on the guitar of band leader Carlos Rios was more prominent than Stevie's singing voice. Therefore, for this release, adjustments were made to improve the separation. Furthermore, the change in sound quality from the tape change that occurred in the middle of the endless performance of "Edge Of Seventeen" at the end of the concert was also mitigated. Of course, since it was Stevie's solo performance, the stage was played with a rock and pop sound that was completely different from the time of Gohonzon Mac. The repertoire from the Mac era, which was included between the solo numbers, was also performed with a late 1980s flavor. However, while she had a great success with her own album in 1989, it was also a time when she was fighting to break her long-standing drug addiction. Even in such a situation, she had to go on a world tour after the album became a big hit, so she was dependent on the drugs she had been prescribed to break her addiction during this period, and it is a famous story that she later confessed that she had no memory of this tour because of this. As if to tell the story of her struggle, when she sings songs like "Alice", "Beauty And The Beast" and the finale "Has Anyone Ever Written Anything For You?", her voice becomes unstable...or rather, she seems drunk. It seems that she relied not only on prescribed medication but also on alcohol to recover from the pain of quitting her addiction. Therefore, JEMS, who released the master this time, explained that "This may not be a record of when she was in top form...but I would like to leave that to the listener's judgment." Nevertheless, Stevie, supported by a distinguished band of backing members, is still a seasoned diva who performs on stage.
