Steve Gadd, a super drummer who turned 70 in April 2015, has been performing on stage with his own band all over the world to coincide with the release of his leader album "70 Strong". Among them, the live performance at the annual "Jazz Stage Festival" held in Leverkusen, Germany on November 9th was recorded over 89 minutes with professional shot footage from the broadcast master. And up until now, the regular group that has been working across genres since the early 70s with their flawless technique and goosebump-inducing groove, after groups such as "Stuff", "Steps" and "Gadd Gang", has been the most energetic in recent years. The members of this group are the familiar Michael Landau, Larry Goldings, Jimmy Johnson, also known from the Holdsworth Band, and Walt Fowler on flugelhorn and trumpet, and are the ultimate technicians, and at this festival, the members are united in a heated battle that explodes throughout the entire show. The set list includes numbers from 70 Strong and the equally exciting classics from the Staff era, making it a career summary, and a must-see item for all jazz fans, not just Gadd fans.
