Steps Ahead, a super unit that has remained at the top of contemporary jazz groups for over 30 years, has made its long-awaited visit to Japan for the first time in eight years. A two-disc set that completely records the final stage in February 2015 with the highest quality sound has already appeared for the first time! The members are centered around Mike, Erskine and Iriane who were in the band when the name was changed, Mark Johnson, Iriane's husband and the original bassist of jazz piano master Bill Evans' last trio, John Coltrane and Joe Influenced by the likes of Henderson, he has been influenced by Chick Corea's Origin, Horace Silver, Freddie Hubbard, Mike Stern, Steely Dan (Bob's first solo was produced by Walter Becker), Joni Mitchell, and Elvis. Costello and Bob Shepard, the saxophonist who plays the kite for all kinds of sessions, including TV and soundtrack work, are a lineup of seasoned masters who have continued since 1999, and have returned to the roots of acoustic jazz since their formation.
