This monster "God" item is a complete recording of Steely Dan's best concert performance in the 1970s, over an hour and a half, directly from the super high quality stereo soundboard master that was said to have been officially recorded at the time! Jeff Porcaro and Michael McDonald, who had just turned 20, also participated! As you know, Steely Dan's live activities ended in 1974, and from then on they only performed in the studio until their revival in the 1990s, and after the recording of "Gaucho", the group temporarily stopped activities. Even in the 1970s, there were few live performances, and Jeff Baxter even moved to the Doobie Brothers just to perform live. In the past, Steely Dan's live performances were said to be a phantom, and only a few recordings were available, but in recent years, recordings from 1974, which is said to be Steely Dan's only concert tour in the 1970s, have begun to circulate. However, all of the recordings were from live shows in the US in March and July, and only a part of the concert, so the whole picture could not be grasped and fans were not satisfied. But finally, a godly item that will satisfy fans has arrived! ! A rare, only live recording of Steely Dan in the 70s in the UK! The live show at the Rainbow Theatre in London on May 20th (Peter Barakan also watched it?) was recorded directly from the master that was said to have been officially recorded at the time, and the concert was completely recorded for the first time in a two-disc set with the best high-quality stereo sound board ever, and the entire concert was recorded for one and a half hours! ! The concert started with a cool MC, and the tight twin drums of Jim Hodder and Jeff Porcaro on the left and right were the cue for "Bodhisattva".
"Bodhisattva". The solos of Denny Diaz and Jeff Baxter, the twin guitars, the keyboards of Donald Fagen and Michael McDonald, and the vocal harmonies were also perfect. If you listen closely, you'll hear Walter Becker's incredibly skilled bass, and Roy Jones' percussion adds a nice touch to the rhythm. Next is "The Boston Rag," followed by Denny's jazzy solo on the killer "Do It Again," Jim's "Brooklyn," "Riki's Phone Number," "Shining Season," Jeff's guitar roars on "My Old School" (a little bit missing from the original master), "Show Biz Kid," Michael's not-yet-husky voice shouts in the middle, "Pretzel Logic," "King of the World," "Dirty Work," and "Your Gold Teeth," with its intense drums and superb technique throughout. It's a parade of representative songs from the first three albums! There's so much to listen to! ! What's more, it also includes a complete recording of cool member introductions and Donald and other MCs between songs. And the last song is the completely unreleased number "This All Too Mobile Home"! The production of this song is just so cool! In a cool touch often seen in soul/funk James Brown concerts, the members left the stage one by one, first Donald, then Michael, Denny, Skunk, Becker, Royce, and finally Jim and Porcaro were left alone, and they played incredibly precise, superbly technical drumming like a drum machine for over five minutes!!
