SONS OF APOLLO is one of the most amazing 5-piece groups in Mike Portnoy's career, who has been in a series of super bands. Introducing the best live album that records the shocking performance in Japan. After all, his face is too amazing. Along with Mike, former DREAM THEATER's Derek Shelenian and MR.BIG's Billy Sheehan form the core, along with former GUNS N' ROSES guitarist Ron "Bumblefoot" Searle, Yngwie, TALISMAN, JOURNEY, etc. Five people including Jeff Scott Sort, known for. Not only have all of them been members of famous bands, but they are all known as masters of their respective parts. I could already tell how stupid they were before I heard the sound, but their debut work "PSYCHOTIC SYMPHONY" was even more amazing. It's casually sprinkled with performances that would be impossible without Bakatech, and the song is also wonderfully catchy. It's amazing without relying on name value, and it's transcendent without needing to show off any skill. On top of that, it was a modern masterpiece with exquisite technique, sense, and sense of balance backed by a glorious career. [The real sound is more than a sound board] Their first visit to Japan was just last week. Among them, this work includes “September 10, 2018: Osaka BIGCAT performance”. First, let's look back at the schedule and check the show's position. ・September 10th: Osaka BIGCAT [This work] ・September 11th: Ebisu LIQUIDROOM ・September 12th: Ebisu LIQUIDROOM A total of 3 performances. The Osaka performance of this work was a concert on the first day of the first visit to Japan. This work, which is a vacuum-packed version of such a show, is a transcendental sound that is like a picture of the best. There is no doubt that it is an audience recording from the lively and exciting opening, but as soon as the performance starts, the intense performance jumps out. The closeness is at an abnormal level, and not only is there no sense of distance, but the details are so detailed that you can even see the vibrations of the cymbals. The heavy bass, which tends to be a weak point for the audience, is also very thick, and the bass drum is repeatedly hit, and each grain of the rapid-fire bass is super vivid from the moment it starts up until it disappears. It would not be surprising if there was some chatter in the bass when it was so close, but there was no such thing and the glossy sound was even beautiful. The person who achieved this great sound was the modern master ``Western Japan's Strongest Taper''. Although his ability has been proven in countless metal titles so far, the sound of this work is a masterpiece that stands out even by the extremely high "strongest person" standards. If it weren't for the feeling of a scorching closed room unique to a club, it would have been "just like a soundboard"... no, I would have never doubted it, believing that it was "absolutely a soundboard." There is no longer any meaning in classifying methodologies into genres, such as soundboard or audience, formal or informal. It is a strange and transcendent recording that reaches the highest peak of concert records. [The extraordinary show of the ultimate superhumans] The show with its amazing sound is also amazing! Masters who have carved their names in rock history intertwine and complement each other's performances, yet never take a step back from each other. The set is exactly the 100% original version of "PSYCHOTIC SYMPHONY" + α. All the songs from the wonderful debut album were played, and the tension, power, and precision of the songs exceeded that of the album! In the internet age, you can find a lot of extraordinarily skillful shut-in players, but the masters are different. A group of genuine performers who live and breathe the stage. Performing in front of an audience becomes even more exciting, and the combination of the technique and the enthusiasm builds up rapidly. Although the elaborate ensemble is tight, it is not mechanical at all. The complex phrases and catchy melodies are thrilling enough to make your hands hurt, and it draws you in. They also released some delicious covers. The selection is unexpectedly catchy, with QUEEN's ``The Prophet's Song / Save Me'', VAN HALEN's ``And the Cradle Will Rock...'', and even the Pink Panther theme, making it really fun. And the highlight is definitely the DREAM THEATER number! In addition to ``Just Let Me Breathe'' from ``FALLING INTO INFINITY,'' the only album in which Derek participated, they will also perform the big song ``Lines in the Sand.'' Both are numbers that were not played in the main house after Mike left, and they are colored by the rapid-fire bass and Jeff's hot scorching vocals. We pay close attention to the entertainment aspect, but the overwhelming thing is the performances. I knew before I listened that each of them had a transcendental skill, but even more than that, their sense and richness of drawers were extraordinary. It's not just accurate, it's not just complex, the more you listen to it, the more meaningful the phrases become, and the inspiration that only live performance continues to have. Normally, an overwhelming amount of information that could only be unraveled after mulling over it repeatedly is being concentrated and released on a once-in-a-lifetime stage. There are many super bands that only have name value, but they are on a completely different level. A rare super unit with a rich and "authentic" sound. It is a live album where you can witness the start dash with super superb sound. If the performers are masters, the fans are also true metal players, and the recorders are also masters. The scorching, ultra-excellent products were born because those who have mastered the art gathered in the narrow Osaka BIGCAT. It's unknown how successful they will be, and how long the fickle Mike Portnoy will continue to play, but maybe this album will become a historic live album...the more I have that feeling, the more frightening it is. A super masterpiece. This is a grand birth. Live at Osaka Bigcat, Osaka, Japan 10th September 2018 ULTIMATE SOUND(from Original Masters) Disc 1 (54:47) 1. Intro : Intruder 2. God of the Sun 3.
