In December 2015, Soft Machine changed its name from Legacy to Soft Machine and started a new activity. From the fall 2016 UK tour, the Milton Keynes performance on November 15th was recorded in a digital audience recording for 97 minutes. Because it was a small club with about 400 people, the sound was clear and full of directness, and John Etheridge's guitar was of soundboard quality. And even though the name was changed, the basic concept is the same as in the Legacy era, but the point is that the members are different. John Marshall does not participate here, and instead Nick France, the drummer of John Etheridge's other unit, THEO TRAVIS'S DOUBLE TALK, participated. And although he is a replacement drummer, he is a veteran who has been active in the scene since the 1980s and has backed up Dave Gilmour, and although he does not have the same free-form style as John Marshall, his technique and sense are outstanding. The set also starts with "Bundles", a rich jazz rock that features plenty of improvisation by the three on top of tight drumming. Disc 1: 1. Tune Up 2. Bundles 3. In The Back Room 4. Band Introductions 5. Chloe And The Pirates 6. Voyage Beyond Seven 7. Song Of Aeolus 8. Grapehound Disc 2: 1. Tune Up 2. The Tale Of Taliesin 3. The Man Who Waved At Trains 4. Kings And Queens 5.
