We have prepared a historical video that records the "legendary first visit to Japan". SLAYER's first visit to Japan was in December 1990. It was truly an "incident". At that time, METALLICA and MEGADETH had visited Japan twice, and ANTHRAX had visited Japan three times, and "thrash metal" was already well established in Japan. However, SLAYER, a particularly fast, heavy, and dangerous band, was "unknown". Although they are classified in the same genre, they have fast songs of a different dimension, artwork that exudes the scent of death, and the Emperor of Immorality who sings without hesitation even of Nazi Germany. At the end, the ultimate veil is finally revealed... Such expectations, awe, and fear mixed together on their first visit to Japan. This work is a masterpiece that brings the scene to life in a realistic way. This work includes the performance of "December 11, 1990: Osaka Festival Hall". First of all, let's check the show position on the schedule.・December 4th: Nakano Sun Plaza ・December 5th: NHK Hall ・December 6th: Melpark Hall ・December 8th: Nippon Seinenkan Hall ・December 11th: Osaka Festival Hall [This work] All five performances. The Osaka performance of this work was the final show even in the first visit to Japan. This work, which contains such a scene, is a truly magnificent audience shot. The position is probably the front seat of the second floor seats in front of the stage. I wrote "probably" because I don't know the exact position. The screen is filled with the stage directly in front, and there is nothing else. There is no shadow in the front row, and even the audience in the first floor seats are not reflected. Moreover, the master freshness is also excellent. Perhaps because of the lighting, it has a slightly sepia-like dignified color, and there is almost no distortion of dubbing deterioration or line noise due to aging. It is a scene that can be immersed only in "SLAYER and myself". On top of that, the shooting technique is wonderful. In recent years, footage of various bands in Osaka in the early 1990s has been unearthed, and the active camerawork that makes full use of intense zooming in and out has become a hot topic. We have delivered many masterpieces to our shop, including MOTLEY CRUE, MEGADETH, AEROSMITH, and others, and the other day SCORPIONS' "OSAKA 1991" was very well received. This work is one of those images. I have introduced the aggressive zoom as a "roller coaster shot" and "solo multi-camera", but the camerawork and the emperor are extremely compatible. In fact, although SLAYER's stage is intense headbanging, all four members hardly move from their fixed positions. Although the "sound" that is filled with all the aggression is overwhelming, it tends to be a bit monotonous in the video. However, this work is different. The fast beat and the quick zoom are synchronized, and the camerawork plays the role of "action". That would be the same for other bands, but SLAYER's "songs" are the key. Their songs are fast and heavy, but unlike hardcore that is just vaguely fast, their songs are intense and have a lot of twists. The sharp twists are visualized by zooming in. The "legendary first visit to Japan" depicted in such a video is amazing... The luxurious set list that summarizes the golden age, with a large number of seven songs from "SEASONS IN THE ABYSS" as the axis, is also amazing, but even more than that, the atmosphere is overwhelming. Not only the awe-inspiring opening scene, but also the audience who pushes back the overwhelming thrash metal that is slammed into them with a chorus is amazing. In today's sense, it is common to burn with mosh pits and circle pits, but the scene of this work is the Osaka Festival Hall with reserved seats, and the era was 1990, which was the 80s until recently. Even SLAYER remembers the lyrics exactly and shouts them. Moreover, it is great because it is not out of place. The energy that would have been poured into the mosh pit was concentrated in one place, and the chorus was so intense that it was like the throat was about to burst. The whole show was full of tremendous energy. This was the first appearance of the emperor. The now-unseen "golden four" gathered together for a super-fast metal show that slammed into the super hits of their heyday. They have visited Japan many times since then, but this mood and atmosphere was only there on their first visit. This is a historical video work that lets you experience it by being at the scene.
