Simon Phillips Protocol /FL,USA 2024

Simon Phillips, who is renowned as one of the world's best drummers and has backed up many musicians, has formed his own unit, "Protocol V," and will be touring North America in 2024. The gig in Florida on March 6th was recorded from a stereo soundboard source from a broadcast master, and as his solo unit has been praised for its technical performance in numerous sessions and live performances, including those of Jeff Beck and Mick Jagger, the lineup is full of strong players. The members are a quintet consisting of Otmaro Ruiz (keyboards), Ernest Tibs (bass), Jacob Cesney (saxophone), and Alex Sill (guitar), and they play a spectacular session with a jazz-rock taste throughout the entire album. They are also scheduled to perform in Japan in July of the same year, so this is a must-have gem for preparation before coming to Japan.
