From the 1980 American tour accompanying the release of SCORPIONS' "ANIMAL MAGNETISM", the June 14th performance in Milwaukee, Wisconsin is now available as a high-quality audience source with the triple signature of clarity, power, and ease of listening. This work, which directly uses high-quality audience masters provided by overseas collectors, will be considered by fans as one of the few sound sources from the 1980 "ANIMAL MAGNETISM" tour! After the departure of Uli Jon Roth, SCORPIONS rebuilt itself with the official addition of Matthias Japs, and expanded its field of activity greatly, making its first full-fledged foray into the United States with the 1979 "LOVEDRIVE" tour. succeeded. In December of the same year, after the 1979 tour, the band began work on their second album after joining Matthias. They completed ``ANIMAL MAGNETISM'', which maintained the direction of ``LOVEDRIVE'' but added heavier elements, and announced it in March 1980. ``ANIMAL MAGNETISM'' has received mixed reviews due to its heavy and experimental style, but it includes the band's signature songs ``Make It Real'' and ``The Zoo,'' as well as the delicate and melodious ``Lady Starlight.'' This is an ambitious work that features Matthias's play more than the previous work. They embarked on a European tour in April 1980 with their new album, and a large-scale American tour in late May. In this work, the mid-way performance at Milwaukee's "Milwaukee Arena" on June 14th from the '80 American tour is recorded as a high-quality audience source that combines ease of listening and the power of the performance. The live began with “Pictured Life,” a representative song from the Uri era. In the same year's European tour, "Lovedrive" was the main opening, so opening with this song was a unique listening point for the American tour. The sparkling clearness backed by the outstanding freshness of the master and the direct feel of the performance make it an outstanding listening experience even with the '80s live source. Klaus' fresh and relaxed vocals are simply wonderful. The guitars and drums are also captured with a very active sound, and the speedy "Don't Make No Promises" and the groovy "Loving You Sunday Morning" can be enjoyed with a sense of unity typical of SCORPIONS. “Animal Magnetism” and “The Zoo”, selected from the new album, will be performed in a medley format exclusive to this tour. The moment when the heavy ending of "Animal Magnetism" leads to the dramatic "The Zoo", the audience responds with excitement (the noise of the firecrackers exploding is also cool)! The second half of the live show led by “Lovedrive” takes a turn from the heavy mid-section to a harder development that captivates fans. In "Another Piece Of Meat" that follows this "Lovedrive", Klaus's powerful and high-tension performance is amazing! At the end, "Can't Get Enough" featuring Mattias' guitar solo "Six String Sting" explodes! The band's performance uses up every ounce of energy it has, and it's so spectacular that it makes you want to clap your hands and say, "This is SCORPIONS!" The band will also perform at the first "Monsters of Rock" on August 16th after this American tour. The band grew into a band that received support not only in Europe and Japan, but also in the United States and the United Kingdom. This '80 American tour was mainly performed as an opening act for TED NUGENT, and the performance time was a little short at about 45 minutes. However, the set list, which focuses on the songs "LOVEDRIVE" and "ANIMAL MAGNETISM" and also includes "Picture Life" from the Uri era, will leave the listener more than satisfied. For SCORPIONS, the year 1980 can be said to be a period of transition, as they are on the eve of their next album ``BLACKOUT'' tour and their worldwide breakthrough with ``LOVE AT FIRST STING.'' This work, which lets you enjoy that precious live performance with excellent sound, can be said to be a must-see for all SCORPIONS fans. Live at Milwaukee Arena, Milwaukee, MI.
