The 1977 Japan tour is known as one of the most famous soundboard production periods in the band's career. A new excavation master has been released to further enhance the collection. This work was recorded at the "November 29, 1977: Nippon Budokan" performance. It is a stereo soundboard recording. Speaking of 1977 soundboards, the three-performance set "MOONFLOWER IN JAPAN" has become a staple, but this work is different from any of them. To understand the situation, let's unravel the schedule for the band's visit to Japan at the time.・November 19th: Nakajima Sports Center (Sapporo) ・November 20th: Nippon Steel Muroran Gymnasium ・November 21st: Hakodate Civic Gymnasium *November 22nd "MOONFLOWER IN JAPAN (Akita)" ・November 24th: Niigata City Gymnasium ・November 25th: Fukui Municipal Gymnasium ・November 26th: Ishikawa Welfare Pension Hall ・November 27th: Toyama City Public Hall *November 28th "TOKYO 1977 FIRST NIGHT (Budokan, AUD)" *November 29th Tokyo Nippon Budokan ←★This work★ *November 30th "MOONFLOWER IN "MOONFLOWER IN JAPAN (Nakano)" December 1st: Nakano Sunplaza, December 2nd: Ibaraki Prefectural Civic Cultural Center, December 3rd: Koriyama Civic Hall, December 5th: Nagoya City Public Hall, December 6th: Kyoto Kaikan *December 7th "MOONFLOWER IN JAPAN (Osaka)" December 8th & 9th: Osaka Welfare Pension Hall, December 10th: Osaka Festival Hall, December 12th: Yahata Civic Hall, December 13th: Fukuoka Kyuden Memorial Gymnasium, December 14th: Kumamoto Municipal Gymnasium, December 15th: Hiroshima Prefectural Gymnasium, December 16th: Kurashiki Civic Hall A total of 24 performances. In the 1970s, SANTANA undertook lengthy Japan tours every time they came to Japan, with 1977 being their peak year, recording the most performances of any tour. Just listing them like this is impressive. The highlight of the tour was the two-night consecutive performance in Wuhan, Japan. "TOKYO 1977 FIRST NIGHT" is also popular, but that was an audience recording from the first day. In contrast, this work is a soundboard from the second day. This work is also a newly released master. While the exact generation number is unknown, it's a recently unearthed low-generation master, and it's hard to believe it was actually a show from 48 years ago. The cheers are far away, and the mix is a vivid, direct-to-table system, so it's a vintage soundboard that exposes the era of the equipment, but its freshness is immense. The fine details are beautifully preserved, and while it may seem unassuming at first glance, listening carefully with headphones reveals the subtleties of the ensemble. This newly unearthed sound depicts a full show supported by the utmost Japanese enthusiasm. Here, let's organize the set, focusing on the differences from the three performances in the soundboard collection "MOONFLOWER IN JAPAN." Early Period (10 songs): Santana: Evil Ways / Savor (*) / Soul Sacrifice; Heavenly Guardian: Incident At Nashabur (*) / Black Magic Woman-Gypsy Queen / Oye Como Va / Samba Pa Ti (*); Santana III: Batuka / No One To Depend On / Toussaint L'Ouverture; Mid-Period (12 songs): Amigo: Dance Sister Dance (Baila Mi Hermana) / Europa (Earth's Cry, Heaven's Smile) / Gitano; Festival: Let The Children Play / Jugando / The River; Moonflower: Zulu / I'll Be Waiting / She's Not There / Flor D'Luna (Moonflower) / Transcendence; Oneness: Oneness. *Note: * indicates songs that change daily. ...And so on. While the setlists for all 25 shows are unclear, it's difficult to say for sure, but the basic set was largely consistent, with only minor differences being the track order and the songs that changed each day. The Nippon Budokan performances included "Savor," which wasn't performed in Osaka, "Incident At Nashabur," which wasn't performed in Akita, and "Samba Pa Ti," which was omitted from the Nakano and Akita shows. Japan in 1977 was a rare, mass-produced soundboard production area in SANTANA history. This full soundboard of a highlight performance further enhances its impact. This is a new masterpiece that is highly recommended not only for fans of "MOONFLOWER IN JAPAN," but also for those experiencing the "MOONFLOWER Tour" for the first time. This is a stereo soundboard recording of the "November 29, 1977: Nippon Budokan" performance. This is a recently unearthed, direct-mix-table-connected low-generation master, and its freshness is immense. The fine details are beautifully preserved, and while it may seem plain at first listen, the subtleties of the ensemble emerge as you listen carefully with headphones. This is a new masterpiece that will imbue your brain with the Nippon Budokan performance, a highlight of the popular "MOONFLOWER Tour" in Japan.
