The second volume of a complete recording of a major West Coast sound event. This is the edition of the two main acts, SANTANA & JOURNEY. We touched on this in detail in the first volume, but let's briefly review it here just to be sure. This is the second volume of the audience set that completely recorded the event concert "SAN FRANCISCO FEST 2016 ON THE GREEN", where five groups representing the West Coast sound gathered together. The first volume recorded three groups, TOWER OF POWER, THE DOOBIE BROTHERS, and STEVE MILLER BAND, and this volume, the second volume, recorded SANTANA and JOURNEY. In the first place, "SAN FRANCISCO FEST 2016" was a US tour tour by three groups, THE DOOBIE BROTHERS, JOURNEY, and special guest DAVE MASON. However, British guitarist DAVE MASON left the tour's final day in San Francisco, and was replaced by a large group of local California heroes. It was a major event that filled the huge 40,000-seat venue "AT&T Park". This big festival was completely recorded by a Japanese recordist who traveled to the United States for this purpose. This work is an original recording "only for this work" that was directly converted to CD by the recordist himself, who provided us with a complete recording master. The quality is truly magnificent audience sound. As mentioned in the first commentary, the extremely thick musical tones that absorb the enthusiasm that fills "AT&T Park" while completely suppressing it are wonderful. Not only is it thick, but the fineness of the details is also special. Although the outdoor feeling of feeling the wind and the hot on-site feeling cannot be called "like a sound board", the clarity of the musical tones and the closeness are thin even in line recording. The big finale JOURNEY, where the volume of the on-site PA goes up, is a little too thick. The show of the two giants SANTANA & JOURNEY, depicted with such a sound, is the biggest liver of this work. The atmosphere at the site has been exciting since the first event, TOWER OF POWER, but the situation changes as you get closer to the main act. I don't know if it's because they're more popular than the first three groups, or because of their musicality, but there are more audience members singing. I'm worried that the audience will be singing along to this, but of course it's not. In the first round, the cheers from the distance sounded like a "swell," but in this second round, the "swell" wriggles along with the melody and lifts the melody from below. JOURNEY is particularly amazing. In addition to their easy-to-understand hard pop music, they have a spectacular set list with a long list of big hits. Their repertoire is the epitome of the golden age, from "INFINITY" to "RAISED ON RADIO." Moreover, all the songs except "Escape" and "La Do Da" are single hits, so they are a big deal. Of course, it's not just a hit parade, but also the American national anthem with a crying guitar and each person's solo time show off their charm as a performer. A gorgeous and splendid show that can't be missed no matter where in the world is unfolding in their hot hometown. The 40,000-strong chorus was stirred up by the show... it's a huge spectacle that you should definitely experience. THE DOOBIE BROTHERS, who were included in the first volume, have also decided to visit Japan, but SANTANA and JOURNEY, who are featured in this work, are also bands that we are looking forward to visiting Japan in 2017. In 2016, SANTANA was a hot topic because of the reunion of the original members, but this work is different and features the same members as the Japan performance. On the other hand, JOURNEY is planning to perform "4 best selections + 1 performance of a famous album reproduction" at their Japan performance, and this work is the best selection. In other words, this work is a live album that is perfect for preparing for the upcoming Japan performance (listen to "ESCAPE" and "FRONTIERS" themselves to prepare for the famous album reproduction live: lol). Each album is a famous live album by a famous band, but the audience set allows you to feel the huge enthusiasm and spectacle that comes from gathering in their hometown. It even builds up expectations for the Japan performance. No matter how you listen to it, this is a masterpiece that is great.
