RUSH in 1981 was at the height of their power, releasing their masterpiece "MOVING PICTURES". Mike Millard's famous recording, which is also a symbol of that, has been brushed up. It has been decided to release it on 2CD with the highest peak update sound by "GRAF ZEPPELIN". This work is engraved with the "Anaheim performance on June 12, 1981". It is a superb audience recording. Speaking of 1981, the tour changed depending on the time, and the official live work "EXIT... STAGE LEFT" was also produced. In order to organize such circumstances, let's first take a bird's-eye view of the activities at that time. 1980 January 17th - May 23rd: North America #1 (79 shows) ← ※ST. LOUIS 1980 etc. ・June 1st - 22nd: UK (19 shows) “MOVING PICTURES Tour” ・September 11th - October 1st: North America #2 (16 shows) 1981 {February 12th "MOVING PICTURES" released} ・February 20th - July 5th: North America #3 (79 shows) ←★Here★ “EXIT... STAGE LEFT Tour” ・October 29th - November 29th: Europe (20 shows) ・December 1st - 22nd: North America #4 (15 shows) This is RUSH in 1980/1981. “MOVING PICTURES Tour” is the general term for “North America #2” before the album was produced and “North America #3” after it was released. After the "European" leg, it was the "EXIT... STAGE LEFT Tour" accompanying the live album. The Anaheim performance of this work is one act of the main leg "North America # 3". Here, not only the official work but also the masterpieces "DEFINITIVE CHICAGO 1981" and "LONG BEACH 1981" are left. Let's focus on the schedule further. Details of "North America # 3" ・ February 20-28 (7 performances) * March 1 "DEFINITIVE CHICAGO 1981" ・ March 2-25 (14 performances) * March 27: Official "EXIT... STAGE LEFT" ・ March 28-June 11 (42 performances) * June 12: Anaheim performance ← ★ This work ★ * June 14 "LONG BEACH 1981" ・ June 15-July 5 (12 performances) ... and it is like this. This work was recorded about two and a half months after the Montreal performance where the official work "EXIT... STAGE LEFT" was recorded. It was also the concert just before the prestigious Kinney masterpiece "LONG BEACH 1981". Well, such a show is known above all for the fact that the absolute master Millard's famous recording was left behind, and the excavation of the 1st Gene Master in 2020 in particular was an incident in the collector's world. It was a big hit as a new masterpiece called "RUSH's LISTEN TO THIS EDDIE". It was sold out and out of print in the blink of an eye. This work is the highest peak update board that "GRAF ZEPPELIN" brushed up such an incident master. GRAF ZEPPELIN mastering with extraordinary precision "GRAF ZEPPELIN" mastering is characterized by pursuing work faithful to the basics with unconventional precision. This time, all kinds of techniques are used, such as pitch / phase correction and band analysis that do not allow even 1/1000th of a second of deviation. Such results are seen throughout the entire album, but in this case, the awesomeness of this work can be seen even in the first song, "2112 (Overture / The Temples Of Syrinx)". First of all, it's long. Although the 1st generation master excavated in 2020 has the highest sound quality, about 38 seconds were missing from the first dubbing. In this work, that part is compensated for with the same mirrored recording conventional master. Of course, it was also compensated for in the previous version, but this work mastered by "GRAF ZEPPELIN" has even higher accuracy. If you have the previous version, please listen to around "0:22". This is the joint of the tape, and you will understand that the sound is very slightly distorted. In this work, even this minor distortion is beautifully arranged. In addition, "3:59-4:05" and "6:17-6:19" are also check points. In the previous version, you will notice that the stereo feeling is out of whack, such as one channel cutting out for a moment. In this work, these momentary points are also corrected. Moreover, the processing method is also changed according to the characteristics of the distortion, the former is replaced with a different master, and the latter is beautifully arranged by balance adjustment. It may seem like a very detailed story, but "GRAF ZEPPELIN" mastering is "pursued" by accumulating such fine corrections throughout the whole work. Experience the full climax RUSH scene with super famous recording Such corrections and corrections alone are not enough, and the sound that penetrates the whole is also upgraded. The high frequency noise that was slightly on the faintly riding is neatly removed, and the balance is adjusted on the band analysis. By making the bass more powerful and narrowing the midrange, the sound output of RUSH that would have sounded on the scene is faithfully reproduced. However, since the original 1st generation master is said to be "LISTEN TO THIS EDDIE of RUSH", it is not "altogether a different thing" (it would be ruined if it was processed to that extent), but the possibility of the original sound is pursued to the extreme limit. It is the full show of climax RUSH that has been revived by such meticulous mastering. The official live album "EXIT... STAGE LEFT" was an edited work that also included another tour, but this work is a one-take recording from start to finish. You can enjoy the original "MOVING PICTURES Tour" in one go. Finally, let's organize the set. 80's Permanent Waves: Freewill/The Spirit Of Radio/Natural Science (★) Moving Pictures: Limelight (★)/The Camera Eye (★)/YYZ/Red Barchetta/Tom Sawyer/Vital Signs (★) 70's Battle of the Gods: Hemispheres (Prelude) (★)/The Trees (with Broon's Bane)/La Villa Strangiato Other: 2112 (Overture / The Temples Of Syrinx) (★)/Beneath, Between & Behind/Xanadu/Closer To The Heart 70's Medley (★): Working Man/Hemispheres (Armageddon)/By-Tor And The Snow Dog/In The End/In The Mood/2112 (Grand Finale) *Note: Songs marked with "★" are songs that were not heard on the official live album "EXIT... STAGE LEFT". RUSH, said to be the strongest trio in rock history, the "MOVING PICTURES Tour" where they reached their climax, the absolute master Millard sound that recorded the scene, and the "GRAF ZEPPELIN" mastering that pursued the possibilities of the famous product to the limit ... ... It is truly perfect. This work is a cultural heritage of rock history that has been elaborated in every respect. The superb audience recording of the "Anaheim performance on June 12, 1981". The highest peak update board in which "GRAF ZEPPELIN" brushed up the 1st generation master of Mike Millard, who was even called "RUSH's LISTEN TO THIS EDDIE". Utilizing another generation of the same recording, even the slightest sound roughness and shaking are thoroughly corrected. It is a cultural heritage album that pursues the possibilities of super famous recording to the limit. The latest remastering from the Millard 1st Gen Tape released by JEMS at the end of 2019! Removed high frequency noise around 15.5kHz on Disc 1. EQ correction mainly on low and mid range. By increasing the low range and narrowing the mid range somewhat, the low range is brought out and the sound is somewhat tighter (tighter). Some parts of the 1st Gen where the tape is disturbed have been replaced with a mirrored sound source (gene unknown) from another branch. The replacement has been handled meticulously, so there is no change in sound quality due to the replacement.
