ROXY MUSIC in 1976 was heading towards dissolution, while getting a foothold in the US with a single hit. A special version of the famous masterpiece video, also known as "Beard Ferry", is now available. This work features the "Stockholm performance on January 27, 1976". It is a multi-camera pro shot taken at one point of the "SIREN Tour". 1976 was also the year of the first dissolution, so let's start by looking back on that journey and check the position of the show. 1975, October 2-23: UK (16 performances) {SIREN released on October 24th} 1976, November 14-December 2: North America #1 (5 performances) 1976, January 23-27: Sweden (3 performances) ←★Here★ 1976, February 13-March 20: North America #2 (20 performances) {VIVA! released in August} This is ROXY MUSIC in 1975/1976. In Europe, in addition to their home country of the UK, they only performed three performances in Sweden, and this Stockholm performance was the final day of that. The professional shots taken at such shows have been a popular standard video that has been loved for a long time, but this work is the highest version of it. This is the Japanese broadcast version featured on a certain broadcasting association's famous program "Golden Western Music Live". What is the highest peak is the quality. This program was only in 2006, so if the broadcast was digital, the recording was also digital. The station master has been made into a DVD with completely official quality. In fact, the sound tends to be distorted only in the rare song "Nightingale" (the video remains excellent), but looking at the analog distortion, it is not a broadcast accident or a recording mistake. It seems that the original master on the station side is the cause. And speaking of Japanese broadcasts, the unique production of the program is also a point. Our store archives a number of music programs with the best masters by core record enthusiasts, and "Golden Western Music Live" is a regular. It is a type of program that plays famous videos straight, with tasteful Japanese subtitles, commentary corners with various guests, and more, full of the flavor of Japanese broadcasts. First of all, the subtitles are really thoughtful. Not only are the names of each member and the song titles displayed, but Brian Ferry's MC is also fully translated. What's even more delicious is the short commentary that goes into each song. Of course, there is no tasteless stuff like the good or bad of the song, but the characteristics, albums included, hit data, etc. are displayed. As I will explain later, this work includes many songs from the members' solo albums, which is surprisingly useful. Another major production is the commentary corner before and after the live. In this work, the corner before the live is a bit smooth, but the corner after the live is very interesting. A different guest is invited each time, but the navigator in this work is a certain music critic "Kon-chan", who introduced ROXY MUSIC to Japan early on. Although he took his own life in 2010, this work was four years before that, and his words explaining the visual concept and the intention of the set in a soft and gentle tone touch my heart. Anyway, the main character is of course the live itself. Currently, there is a complete sound board of this show, but this work is only a video version. It is a digest of about 47 minutes. Let's organize the contents here. ROXY MUSIC, Stranded: Mother Of Pearl/Street Life, Country Life: The Thrill Of It All/Out Of The Blue (★), Siren: Nightingale, Single: Virginia Plain Solo-related works: Phil Manzanera: Diamond Head, Andy Mackay: Wild Weekend, Bryan Ferry: The 'In' Crowd/A Hard Rain's A-Gonna Fall *Note: The "★" mark indicates a song that was also heard on the official live album "VIVA!" ... and so on. Speaking of live performances from the Eddie Jobson era, the official transmission album "VIVA!" comes to mind, but the only song that overlaps with this work is "Out Of The Blue". There are plenty of solo songs by Manzanera, Mackay, and Ferry, and you can enjoy the rare song "Nightingale" that was only played on this tour (although the audio distortion is unfortunate). A superb multi-camera pro shot of Ferry with a beard, a representative work of the "SIREN Tour". This is the Japanese broadcast version, which is the highest version and has a number of unique productions. "If it was made into an official work and a Japanese version was released..." This is a piece that has become the shape of such a fantasy. A multi-camera pro shot of the "Stockholm performance on January 27, 1976". This is the Japanese version broadcast in 2006, and it is full of the deliciousness unique to Japanese broadcasts, such as the completely official quality unique to digital broadcasts, Japanese subtitles complete with MCs and song explanations, and commentary corners placed before and after the live. This is a video masterpiece that is full of the fun unique to the "SIREN Tour", such as the virtuosity of Bryan Ferry with a beard and Eddie Jobson.
