ROXY MUSIC in 1976 was mass-producing masterpieces and albums, but was heading for collapse. A historic collection of masters that conveys the scene is here. This work was recorded at the "February 20, 1976 Los Angeles Performance". It is a masterpiece audience recording by Barry Goldstein. Speaking of ROXY MUSIC on the verge of disbanding, the masterpiece pro shot "STOCKHOLM 1976: JAPANESE BROADCAST" and the soundboard album "NEW YORK 1976: FM BROADCAST" are also familiar. First of all, let's take a bird's-eye view of the activities at that time and check the positional relationship of each. 1975, February 8th-March 7th: North America #1 (19 shows) {John Wetton leaves → John Gustafson joins}, April 15th-30th: Oceania (8 shows) {June-September: Production of "SIREN"}, October 2nd-23rd: UK (17 shows), November 14th-December 1st: North America #2 (12 shows) {Gustafson leaves → Rick Wills joins}, 1976, January 23rd-27th: Sweden (5 shows) ←※STOCKHOLM, 1976, February 13th-March 20th: North America #3 (25 shows) ←★Here★ {July: ROXY MUSIC disbands} This is ROXY MUSIC in 1975/1976. At the end of 1975, there was a change of direction from John Gustafson to Rick Wills, and after that, they toured Sweden and North America. The Los Angeles performance of this work was the fourth performance of "North America # 3", the final leg. It was a concert 11 performances before (16 days before) "NEW YORK 1976: FM BROADCAST". This work, which vacuum-packed such a show, is a bit of a masterpiece. In fact, when you play this work, the sound that pops out is a fluffy sound. Moreover, only the voices of the nearby customers are strangely clear, and it is a bad recording that makes you doubt your ears, "Is this really a Goldstein work!?" Of course, if it ends here, I will not introduce it. The real strength of this work is the third song "Love Is The Drug". Here, it suddenly becomes ferociously clear and clear, and it is transformed into the usual Goldstein sound. It seems that the reason for the big blunder at the beginning was the nearby customers who were talking loudly. It sounds like a riot in this work, but it seems that Goldstein was a considerable nuisance who could not be handled, and he was forced to move. The reason why the sound was muffled was probably because the microphone was hidden during the move. Anyway, after "Love Is The Drug", it was so bright, beautiful and clear that it was hard to believe it was the same show. Although there was no sense of closeness that could be mistaken for a sound board, the vivid sound with sharp contours was very fresh. Of course, it also absorbed the enthusiasm that boiled between songs, but it was no longer bothered by the close-up customers. If it had been recorded in this position from the beginning... It is a real sound that can sympathize with Goldstein's regret as if it were in hand. Such a clear real sound is drawn, and there are plenty of masterpieces that could not be heard on the most recent sound board album "NEW YORK 1976: FM BROADCAST". Let's organize it while comparing it here. Siren (5 songs) Sentimental Fool / Love Is The Drug / She Sells (★*) / Whirlwind (*) / Both Ends Burning Classics (13 songs) For Your Pleasure: For Your Pleasure / Editions of You (★) / Do The Strand (★) Country Life: The Thrill Of It All / Bitter-Sweet / Out Of The Blue Others: Mother Of Pearl / Sea Breezes (*) / Re-Make/Re-Model (★) Solo related: Diamond Head (*) / Wild Weekend (*) / The 'In' Crowd (★*) / A Hard Rain's A-Gonna Fall (★*) *Note: The "★" mark indicates a song that was not heard on the soundboard album "NEW YORK 1976: FM BROADCAST". The "*" mark indicates a song that was not played after the reunion. ...And so on. "NEW YORK 1976: FM BROADCAST" was about 63 minutes long, probably because it was edited according to the broadcast time slot, but this work is about 84 minutes long. It covers all the songs that were heard on the soundboard album, and six more songs are added. Among them, repertoires such as "She Sells" and covers of "The 'In' Crowd" and "A Hard Rain's A-Gonna Fall" are exclusive to the "SIREN Tour". It's a pity that there was a problem at the beginning. It's too bad. The clear sound from the third song onwards is so comfortable, and it's a live album overflowing with a wonderful show. A new masterpiece that allows you to enjoy ROXY MUSIC, which was musically at the peak of its fulfillment, with a master sound, even though it was about to disband. A masterpiece audience recording of the "February 20, 1976 Los Angeles performance". It is a masterpiece created from the original cassette of master Barry Goldstein. The first two songs were not so good because of the annoying customers, but from the third song "Love Is The Drug" which changed the location, it was transformed into a fiercely clear show. You can enjoy the full show with plenty of exclusive songs only for "SIREN Tour" with the usual Goldstein sound.
