ROUGH CUTT, the band that launched the husky-voiced singer Paul Shortino and dominated the LA metal era, are here with this soundboard album that will immerse you in their live performance. This work was recorded at the Reading Festival on August 23, 1986, a stereo soundboard recording of their appearance at the iconic British summer festival. Their first UK live performance was at the Marquee Club in 1984, before their debut, when they were still semi-professional. This was their first visit to the UK as album artists, and also marked the end of their heyday. This is a great opportunity to look back on their activities during their fleeting heyday, including two memorable visits to Japan. 1985 (February 11th: ROUGH CUTT released) March 20th - May 17th: North America #1 (26 shows) August 11th: Appearance at Super Rock '85 August 13th - December 27th: North America #2 (62 shows) 1986 (July 7th: WANTS YOU! released) August 23rd + 26th: UK (2 shows) ←★here★ September 20th: Denver show October 11th: Puerto Rico show November 8th - December 26th: North America #3 (9 shows) 1987 January 28th - 31st: Japan (3 shows) ←※TOKYO 1987 (Paul Shortino leaves the band → Pellimore McCarty replaces) (October 4th: Shortino appears at JAPAN AID as QUIET RIOT) 2 performances] October 20th - November 14th: North America #4 (3 performances) [ROUGH CUTT Disbandment] This is the journey from their debut to their disbandment. Their records are still limited, so it's hard to say for sure that the above is comprehensive, but it should give you a general idea of the events. ROUGH CUTT's career was dominated by North America, their main battlefield, but they also expanded to Japan and the UK in between. Shortino decided to leave the band during their Japan tour in early 1987. In October of the same year, he returned to Japan as the frontman for Quiet Riot. Their overseas performances are extremely rare. Their appearance at the Reading Festival, in particular, was a highlight of their career, a sort of "British version of Super Rock '85." This historic show was broadcast on the BBC's signature program, "Friday Rock Show." Known for being one of the few remaining soundboards from ROUGH CUTT's heyday, this new master brings their sound to its peak. It turns out to be a first-generation cassette released by renowned collector "GManOF." The sound is truly superb. To be honest, many previous releases were produced by disappointing masters who were tattered and sloppy, but this one is different. The freshness is wonderful, with almost no traces of dubbing, and the crystal-clear atmosphere and crisp performance sound, even down to the nuances of the instrument, are outstanding. This first-generation sound is a culmination of ROUGH CUTT's peak, condensed from two albums. Perhaps due to the festival appearance, the recording time is quite limited at about 40 minutes, but it's all the more intense. Let's summarize the contents here. Rough Cut (4 songs), Kids Will Rock (★), Dressed To Kill, Piece Of My Heart, Cutt Your Heart Out, Want You (6 songs), Rock The USA, Don't Settle For Less (★), Let 'Em Talk, Bad Reputation, We Like It Loud, Double Trouble. *Note: ★ indicates songs not heard on the official "LIVE" album. ...And so it goes. While the band's repertoire spanned 20 songs across two albums, the Reading album condensed it into a single album of 10 songs. Speaking of '80s live performances, there's also the official excavation album "LIVE," but this album also features "Kids Will Rock," which wasn't even heard there. And not only the set, but the performance itself is intense. As expected of a famous foreign festival, the band was pumped up to the brim, and the shortness of the performance ensured a constant sense of tension as they sprinted at full speed. It pours directly into your brain the super-intense, career-high stage where everything was going well. This is a soundboard album of ROUGH CUTT at their peak, brought to the same level as the official "LIVE" release thanks to GManOF's treasured first-generation cassette. It's a must-have album, released as an official deluxe edition with "WANTS YOU!" as a two-disc set. This stereo soundboard recording of the "Reading Festival Performance on August 23, 1986" is the first-generation master released by renowned collector GManOF, and is a superb product comparable to the official excavation "LIVE." This is an absolute soundboard album, featuring "Kids Will Rock," a track not available on the official release, and the explosive excitement of a famous foreign festival.
