These are outtakes from the album "UNDERCOVER," which has been steadily unearthed lately, and this is a new release of studio material including unreleased session recordings. The vocal and instrumental parts are split almost evenly, and the instrumental songs are more like backing tracks before vocals than warm-ups. The three tracks 2, 6, and 8 overlap with "TOO MUCH BLOOD," but this time they are recorded from a master with slightly different sound quality. "CRISTINE," "FORTY," and "IDENTIFICATION" are the first CDs from the same session. "DANCE MR.K." and "RUN AND TAKE" were released under different titles in the OBR series, but the sound quality has been greatly improved this time. The long version of "SHE WAS HOT" was also included in "THE VIRCHOV TAPE" and "TOO MUCH BLOOD" (DAC-182), but the version included this time is the version that was actually aired on the radio, and is a different mix from the take with the title mentioned above. The two songs "ALL ABOUT YOU" and "IT'S A LIE" are not from the "UNDERCOVER" period, but are outtakes from the album "EMOTIONAL RESCUE". "ALL ABOUT YOU" sung by Keith has a working title of "TRAIN SONG", and its existence had only been rumored, but it is an early take with Mick's chorus that has finally appeared in the full version, and is the highlight of this album. "IT'S A LIE" is a take one with a harp intro, different from the version released on "Place Pigalle", and has not been included on VGP/DAC albums until now. This is a sequel to the excellent outtakes from the "UNDERCOVER" period, which is long awaited by enthusiasts, with good sound quality and many first-time and upgraded sound sources recorded throughout the entire series.
