The re-release of the highly popular Rolling Stones 1981 tour, supervised by Graf Zeppelin, last time was the first day of East Rutherford and Rosemont, so this time, the second day of those will appear as a sequel. First, the second day in East Rutherford. The rough mix of this day's multi-track recording for radio broadcasting has a rougher texture and instrument balance than the previous day's, and when you listen to it with headphones, you can feel the vividness of each instrument, as if they were right in front of you. is attractive. For example, in "Just My Imagination", there is not only the stereo image of Keith on the right and Ronnie on the left, but also Mick's rhythm guitar in the middle, and from the left Ian McLagan's organ, which is usually hidden, plays loudly. The balance is typical of a rough mix. Indeed, it will make you realize that it is the mixer and producer's job to create a live album to maintain this balance. Also, when the sound source was released in 2013, the localization of Keith and Ronnie were opposite, but this had already been adjusted at the time of the release of "NEW JERSEY 1981 2ND NIGHT", and the few missing parts of the original sound source. Similarly, the cut of “Let Me Go”, which was one, was supplemented with the PA out sound board. I feel nostalgic now that this editing was a great example of how to clearly show the difference between a monaural PA output sound source and multi-track stereo sound quality. The sound quality itself is at the highest level, so there is no need to make any changes to it; rather, for this release, Graf Zeppelin has carefully adjusted the low volume areas that were found in some areas. The excellent stereo soundboard recording has been reborn as a new version with more stability. And speaking of this day, the Stones' performance was extremely eventful (lol). This was a hot topic among enthusiasts even when the PA output sound source was released, but it has become possible to hear it even more clearly with the clear multi-track stereo. Despite the fact that the tour was in the middle of the tour, and there was recording for both the radio show and the movie, which was an exciting condition for the Stones, it was also a legendary day of unexpected slapstick. Anyway, the difference from the previous day was huge. The problem started with ``Let's Spend The Night Together'', where the ending seemed like it was going to end but it didn't, and it got stuck in the middle of nowhere. From here, the same phenomenon can be seen in many songs. In that sense, it can be said that “Going To A Go Go” from “Neighbours” was a “lull” between the turbulence of this day. First, the ending of "Let Me Go" ends in disarray, and then Keith and Charlie don't get along at the beginning of "Time Is On My Side." An impatient Keith asks, "Turn up the guitar (monitor)!" even though he's in the middle of adding backing chorus, but it turns out that the cause of the series of clatter is a malfunction of the stage monitor. It turns out that it was. In this situation, the rough singing that serves as the chorus without hiding his frustration is amazing. The following “Beast Of Burden” also not only heard Keith’s rougher chorus than usual, but the performance itself is so disjointed that you can’t help but ask, “Is it going to end like that?” After the middle of the live performance, there were frequent incidents where most of the songs ended poorly or the performance went astray. It's serious because even repertoire like "Tumbling Dice", which has been performed hundreds of times, is on the verge of being stopped. This unstable performance was the result of the Stones being held back by the malfunction of the monitor under the stressful conditions of recording. After "All Down The Line", which is the performance just before it was dropped from the repertoire, it developed into a disaster where the performance almost stopped for most of the songs. It would be impossible under normal circumstances for such ordinary mistakes to occur repeatedly even in the second half of the live performance, which is basically an ageless atmosphere, and it is strange that even "Start Me Up" almost stops. The ultimate in such a pitiful state is "Jumping Jack Flash." Here, the performance nearly stops three times. Charlie's struggle to somehow recover from this mess is heartbreaking now, and the chaos that caused the tempo to change many times during the performance was recorded in the best stereo soundboard recording. There are also. In this way, it is vividly conveyed that the monitor was malfunctioning on the big stage for the stadium, but ironically, it is too interesting that the performance was completely slapstick. This is definitely one of the best happening shows on the 1981 tour, and that is why there are many enthusiasts who have been waiting for its reappearance eight years since the previous release.
