The “VOODOO LOUNGE” tour even brings back nostalgia now. Even in 1994, which was the first year, we were blessed with sound sources and videos, and it can be said that it is the result of the Stones themselves putting effort into promoting the album and tour. Still, it is still fresh in my memory that "TAMPA 1994", a multi-track recording from a valuable period, was reissued, but while Tampa was in the latter half of the 1994 tour, this time it is a famous multi-track recording from the beginning of the tour. Recurrence will be realized. The New Jersey performance on August 14th saw the light of day in several ways, such as radio broadcasts and live videos, but although they had excellent image and sound quality, they were still far from complete live recordings. I was holding it. On the other hand, due to the situation where the full-length version of the multi-track recording of this day was leaked in real time, the sound quality is rough, but you can enjoy the entire live performance on a stereo soundboard. That is the nostalgic VGP board "BITE THE BIG APPLE", and maniacs have listened to it gratefully because of its preciousness that more than compensates for its sound quality. However, it is also true that this made me wish the sound quality was a little better, and the 2008 masterpiece "GIANTS STUDIUM 1994" made that wish come true after more than 10 years. An overwhelming upper feeling achieved by independently obtaining a leaked cassette master that is not available on the internet or among traders. Not only was it a bestseller, but it was also sold out for a long time. Nearly 15 years have passed since then, and we have been craving the release of new titles. If “TAMPA 1994” from the latter half of the tour is reissued, it is the perfect time for “GIANTS STUDIUM 1994” to be reborn. That said, this is a master cassette containing a rough mix of a multi-track recording that was originally leaked by a person involved. Therefore, there was no need to apply equalization, and the only major improvement was to use Graf Zeppelin, who was in charge of supervising the sound source, to center Mick's vocals. Therefore, if you listen to it with headphones, you will be able to enjoy the sophisticated live album-like finish with Mick relocated to the center. By the way, the only missing part of this sound source, from the end of the set change SE to the intro of “Love Is Strong”, is compensated for from the audience recording on the same day as before. A characteristic of this sound source was that the presence of Ronnie's guitar was weakened due to the rough mix, but Keith's presence was enormous, and ironically, the uniqueness of the balance made it popular again. That was the secret. Moreover, since it is a multi-track recording, the sound quality itself is the clearest. The contours of each instrument are also wonderful. At the same time, the cheers are captured in great detail, giving a perfect sense of realism. I'm sure you'll enjoy it just like a normal live album. After all, the sound quality is very good, so what was the condition of the Stones at the beginning of the "VOODOO LOUNGE" tour? This is something that I can easily understand. Since it's only the 14th day of the tour and there are only 5 performances, the performance clearly lacks the momentum compared to Tampa at the end of the tour. This is noticeable from the opening to "Shattered" and around "Miss You," and it's also funny. However, in "Rocks Off", the roughness typical of the Stones suddenly revives, or in the single cut "Love Is Strong", a very enthusiastic performance can be heard, which is typical of the Stones at the beginning of the tour. I can clearly see how uneven the performance is. And “I Can’t Get Next To You” was a Temptations cover and was the biggest rare repertoire at the beginning of the tour. It was the first of the ``R&B covers that were not well received and quickly fell out of the set'' (bitter smile), which the Stones would occasionally attempt after 1994, but the performances led by Mick were excellent enough, and this one The charm of being able to enjoy the highest quality sound has not faded at all.
