Definitive edition, ultra-high quality stereo soundboard title, recording the first performance in New Jersey on November 5, 1981. Among the multi-track recording rough mix of the 1981 American tour that was released nearly 10 years ago, I think there are many enthusiasts who have been eagerly waiting for the reappearance of this day. From this day, the movie "LET'S SPEND THE NIGHT TOGETHER" was recorded, and it was also the day that the live album "STILL LIFE" and radio broadcast were also included. And after all, “Down The Road Apiece”, which was one of the biggest rare repertoires on the 1981 tour, has been revived for the first time since the beginning of the tour. First of all, it was the day when a monaural PA out soundboard was discovered, much to the delight of enthusiasts, but as I mentioned at the beginning, the quality of the multi-track recording of the rough mix for radio broadcasting was easily higher than that, and it was clear. And the appeal of being heard in official level stereo was too great. However, when the original sound source was distributed on the "CONCERT VAULT" site, even though the song started in "Under My Thumb", "Hang Fire" was overlapping the second half of "A Train" from beginning to end, and in the end, The sound of the regular version of "TATTOO YOU" was overlapping the sound of "Slave", which seemed to be a problem when creating the rough mix. They were mixed up to the beginning of “When The Whip Comes Down”, which irritated the maniacs, saying, “There was trouble on the day I wanted to hear it the most…”. However, the good news is that "STILL LIFE" can cover the parts that contain these problems. This editing solved a big problem, but confusingly, in "STILL LIFE", the vocals were replaced in part of the previous "Under My Thumb", so the value of the rough mix itself was still intact. . Therefore, the original content of the distribution, and the thoughtful content that included Mick's genuine vocal ``Under My~'' from each PA output sound source as a bonus, became even more popular. In this way, "EAST RUTHERFORD 1981 1ST NIGHT" (formerly titled "NEW JERSEY 1981 1ST NIGHT") had a very high degree of perfection compared to its release at the time, so there were no major changes to be made in this re-release. There was no. This time, even though I had Graf Zeppelin in charge of the overhaul, it was only a minor adjustment. Another advantage of using the "STILL LIFE" version at the beginning was that it was now possible to easily hear and compare the differences between the completed mix and the rough mix. "When The Whip Comes Down" switches to a rough mix, but whereas the previous song was a complete live album with everything adjusted, from this song on, the texture of the performance is more vivid. Moreover, the difference that the balance is literally rough is clearly conveyed. Regarding this song, the backing chorus sung by keyboardist Ian McLagan has a great balance. Also, at the beginning of "Miss You", the scene where the rhythm guitar played by Mick starts to sound stupidly loud (and then suddenly lowers the volume) is interesting, and this is also unique to the rough mix. And on this day, the Stones' performance was very hot. Wonderful performances that follow the Stones' rule that the voltage increases when recording starts pop up everywhere. Mick will let you hear a powerful and passionate singing, and the band will also reach its first peak with “Just My Imagination”. I think it was the best timing for “Down The Road Apiece” to be played after a long time. If you compare it to the same song from the beginning of the tour on the currently on sale "BUFFALO 1981", it's like a completely different band (lol). It's funny to see Mick get so worked up that he makes a mistake in the composition of "You Can't Always Get What You Want," and Tina Turner jumps in to perform a duet with Mick on "Honky Tonk Women." It is also an attractive scene. And Charlie's drumming is hot on "Jumping Jack Flash" and "Satisfaction"! Moreover, even now, the meaning of each and every stroke he hit resonates deeply with me. Another great point is that you can listen to these scenes with confidence thanks to the excellent sound quality. As expected, the Stones are excited when it comes to recording. The first day of East Rutherford, which was especially popular among such famous performances and 1981 multi-track rough mixes, is literally the long-awaited reappearance! REMASTER & CHECKED BY GRAF ZEPPELIN (Remastered Check Memo) Phase correction only. The area around the beginning has been improved, but after that there doesn't seem to be much of a difference, so there's no change.I've adjusted the volume slightly throughout.
