The Rolling Stones 1982 European tour, which seems to have all the items on CD. Recently, masterpiece audience albums such as “FRANKFURT 1982” and “PARIS 1982 1ST NIGHT” have been released, but this time it is the first sound source from Rotterdam, the starting point of the tour. They first held an arena show as a warm-up in their home country of England at the end of May, and Rotterdam was the place to kick off their tour starting in June. A total of three shows were held at the same location, and all CD items except for the first day have been released. However, on the first day of June 2nd, not only the CD, but even the LP included only a few songs as an extra for "MOJO'S FINEST '82", which included the third day of Rotterdam... and this situation has continued until now. It is true that the audience recording used as a bonus for the same LP is of B-grade sound quality, and indeed it is a difficult quality to release alone. However, apart from that, audience recordings with easy-to-listen sound quality were circulating among traders. Although this recording is monaural, the sound image is large (although it is not in the area that can be described as a sound board), and the texture of the audience recording, which seems to be an outdoor stadium, is not bad. However, for the reasons mentioned above, it is undeniable that there is a squeamish feeling that is common with outdoor cassette recordings, and for this release, equalization has been carried out to alleviate that point. As a result, the excellent monaural audience recording is now easier to listen to, and the contours of the performance are pushed forward. It was still at a level that enthusiasts could easily enjoy, but with this restoration, the quality has been improved to a level that even beginners can enjoy. Since it was an outdoor stadium and a venue in Europe, there was a lot of excitement around the venue, and there was one audience member near the taper who was trying to guess the next song, and he guessed for most of the songs. However, this is something that makes me smile when I hear it. In fact, in the second half of the concert, around "Miss You", the excitement suddenly gets heated and there are many parts that are jarring, but it's okay, as the performance progresses, the area around the taper gets tired and the noise fades out (lol). The Stones' performance itself is already at a high level because they spent the second half of last year on an American tour and also warmed up in Scotland in May. As expected, the sense of speed peculiar to 1982, which becomes noticeable after a few weeks, has not been born, but it is still clear that some songs have a different momentum from the previous year. “Neighbours” may be the first example of this. And speaking of 1982, the rare repertoire is a cover of the Big Bopper's "Chantilly Lace." Although he had already made his stage debut in Scotland, Mick's singing is still a bit restrained, which seems to be the beginning of the tour. The atmosphere is clearly different compared to "PARIS 1982 1ST NIGHT" two weeks later and "FRANKFURT 1982" one month later, and it will be interesting to listen and compare. What's strange is that even the audience, who wanted to predict the next song, didn't know about this song, and unlike other times, the hilarious scene where they didn't shout out the song name was actually a new repertoire that had just been introduced on the tour. It reminds me of. After that, the Stones' performance seemed to be in good shape, but the double saxophone of 1982's famous song "Hang Fire" did not sound at the beginning of the performance due to a mistake on the PA side, which is another incident that seems to be happening at the beginning of the tour. It's funny that I was attacked. Feyenoord Stadion, Rotterdam, Netherlands 2nd June 1982 TRULY AMAZING/PERFECT SOUND Disc 1 (70:49) 1. Take The A Train 2. Under My Thumb 3. When The Whip Comes Down 4.
