It was supposed to be a free concert to unveil Mick Taylor, but due to the sudden death of Brian Jones two days before, it became a memorial performance on July 5, 1969, at Hyde Park. This time, Mania has recorded the nostalgic and familiar OG record “Live At Hidepark” from the original record. What surprises me when I listen to it is just how good the sound is. Recently, a stereo version has been released, so I felt that the audio reduction of Granada TV, which is the official video software, is now meaningless in terms of sound, but anyway, this "OG version" is included. I think even enthusiasts will be surprised by the quality of this sound. Because the record was dropped, you can hear needle crackling noise from beginning to end, but the sound itself is extremely fresh and natural. It's a level that I really can't complain about. Although it was released around 1971, the quality is so high that you wonder if the master used is really an air check of the broadcast at the time, or if it is recorded from a film master. It's even more vivid than the line recording of TSP "He Is Not Dead," and it's clearly thicker and clearer than the FM radio sound sources that have been available since the 1980s. The different spelling of the venue name in the title gives a sense of the era, but on the other hand, I feel like this is an OG album that captured this much sound and released it to the world in this era, and it's formidable. Please enjoy the unprocessed sound emitted from an antique that can be said to be a cross-section of the era, with outstanding freshness. This is a great piece.
