This is a series that uses current technology to review and reissue the multi-track recording soundboard from the 1981 American tour that was released on the CONCERT VAULT site nearly 10 years ago. Days, and this time the Superdome in New Orleans will be making an appearance for the first time in a while. There are probably many enthusiasts who have been waiting for the reappearance of this day. These series of multi-track recordings were used not only for radio broadcasts but also for the live album "STILL LIFE" in some cases, and the level of cheers was particularly high among the rough mix stereo soundboards released at the time. It was a day that had the great charm of being able to experience the realism of a live performance. After all, the finale, "Satisfaction," even included the sound of balloons popping. Furthermore, on this day, unlike other 1981 tours and multi-rough mix sound sources, the big advantage that there was no loss of song units was another factor that made it popular. I was surprised by the recording condition of the Superdome, as there were some defects on the days I released it so far. What is missing is the scene where “Take The A Train” plays at the beginning of the live performance, and the excellent thing that was only between some songs. Of course, those deficiencies were compensated for by using the monaural soundboard sound source from the PA output on the same day, but since it was a day with a better sense of realism than other days, we mixed in the cheers from the multi-track recording for the beginning. , which was praised by enthusiasts for its thorough processing to eliminate any sense of discomfort. In this way, the recording condition itself was more stable than on other days, so Graf Zeppelin, who was in charge of reviewing the sound source for this re-release, made sure that there were no parts that needed to be reworked. That was enough to make me say... And the charm of this day is not only the stability and realistic recording state, but also the performance is very wonderful. Even in the midst of all this, Mick was extremely excited, and skipped the third verse of the opening song, ``Under My Thumb,'' and went straight to the ending. However, this incident was a confusing scene that was received by enthusiasts even at the time of release. Still, the performance on this day was very exciting, and the level of perfection was also high. It's December, and the goal of the tour, Hampton, is starting to come into view. It is not hard to imagine that Mick and the band's morale increased towards the last spurt, and it can be inferred that that is why Mick went out of control from the opening. After this, Mick misjudged the timing of the interlude during "Honky Tonk Women", but thanks to the multi-track recording, the scene where his singing and Keith's guitar solo overlap was clear. It's nice to be able to hear it. Even so, the performance remained high-tension. Also, a characteristic of this day's rough mix is that the volume of Ronnie's guitar playing from the left is high. As the members themselves later testified, Ronnie's playing on this tour was quite uneven, and the mixing in the live album and radio broadcasts cleverly concealed this...or rather, it was noticeable depending on the song. It was almost lost. However, here, the outline of Ronnie's playing is clear from beginning to end, and because of that, you can clearly hear the difference in his playing between songs that include his feelings and songs that don't (lol). It turned out to be a surprising attraction. Among the many multi-track recordings of the 1981 tour that appeared in 2013, the Superdome became popular for its extremely stable recording condition and high-tempered performance, and quickly sold out. is the long-awaited reappearance. If you want to catch a glimpse of the December 1981 tour other than the official Hampton, this is the best sound source of multi-track recording that you can recommend with confidence. It was such a high-tension performance that it was strange that only one song, “Let It Bleed”, was selected for the important radio broadcast!
