The 2003 Japan tour was a fierce battle for releases. The release speed was heating up, but the "LICKS JAPAN TOUR 2003 COMPLETE BOX" was released as a collection of carefully selected sound sources while keeping an eye on the fever. Speaking of 2003, it was the height of the equalization wars, and this set was a collection of the best sound sources brought by the tapers, without adding any equalization. That's why it was sold out so quickly, but it was really loved by enthusiasts, and it became an item that rarely appeared on the used market. Naturally, there were many requests for a re-release in 2003, and our shop had been waiting for the right timing several times. However, when we realized it, more than 10 years had passed, and we had finally lost track of the timing of the release. However, this year marks exactly 15 years since the 2003 Japan tour. There is no way to miss this timing, and the re-release will finally be realized. With so many years having passed, there are many people who don't know about the releases at that time. So let's talk about the audience recordings recorded on each disc. Budokan The Budokan performance was by far the most popular during the 2003 Japan tour. That's why many items have been produced, and in recent years, our store has released individual albums such as "ONE NIGHT AT BUDOKAN". The Budokan sound source recorded in this box is an audience recording with a different feel to them. The direct feeling of the performance is strong, and the clearness of Mick's vocals is a big attraction that other sound sources do not have. Thanks to this balance, you can enjoy the fun of being able to hear famous lines such as "Ikemen Nu" and "Special Guest, Ghost" clearly again. The texture of the entire performance is so rough that it may sound rough, and if you listen to it with headphones, it may sound narrower in range and realism. Also, when the tempo of the performance of "Midnight Rambler" increases, the clapping of the nearest hand is a negative point. However, when played on speakers, the sound quality highlights Mick's vocal balance and the direct feeling of the performance. Please listen to it at a loud volume from your speakers. Yokohama The only Stones gig at Yokohama Arena to date. When the sound source capturing the pattern of this day was released in 2003, there were many items that generally gave a sense of distance to the sound image. The sound source recorded in this box is exactly that kind of sound image with a sense of distance, and some people may feel that it is not enough now compared to the superb sound of "YOKOHAMA 2003" released last year and received great acclaim. However, even though there is a sense of distance, as the gig progresses the direct feeling of the performance emerges, which is a strange balance that is interesting, and for example, in "Start Me Up", Chuck's piano, which usually tends to be buried in the performance, can be heard well. Furthermore, the sound quality is also fine and mild. And the biggest attraction of this sound source is the B stage sound that suddenly changes to a direct and on sound image! The sound quality is more powerful than "YOKOHAMA 2003", and the excitement of fans rushing to see the Stones at close range is vividly revived. First day at Tokyo Dome Now, this is where it really comes into its own. On the first day at Tokyo Dome, VGP and SYLPH produced high-level audience recording items across the board. However, since they were more or less equalized to amplify the power, Mick's vocals seemed to be pushed aside in the performance. However, when it comes to the first day sound source at Tokyo Dome in this box, the direct feeling of Mick's voice is amazing above all. If you just take that part, it's like a sound board? It's so good that you might be mistaken. In addition, there is a slight change in sound quality on the B stage, but the sound quality continues to be intensely direct. Before the performance started, Mick said, "Yeah, here's the one," as if he was whispering in my ear. The vividness of the guitar in "Midnight Rambler" is also goosebumps. On the contrary, not only on the B stage, but the direct feeling of each guitar has already increased from the first half of the show. It is also surprising that you can hear Daryl Jones' bass firmly throughout the whole show. This sound balance is amazing for the audience recording at the Tokyo Dome in 2003! In this way, all the audience recordings boast a unique sound quality that can only be enjoyed with a set on any day. After it was sold out at the time, the individual performances were never sold separately. The legendary set that was fortunately only heard among enthusiasts who were able to get it in 2003 has finally been re-released after 15 years. Of course, this time too, no unnecessary equalization will be applied, and the charm of the original recording will be revived as it is. For those who only knew the existence of the items from specialized magazines and websites, please do not miss this chance for the first time in 15 years to finally get this set and listen carefully to each sound source!
