Since the session recordings for "FORTY LICKS" were a shocking release, this time it comes with a video with a connection. The world tour that took place after the release of that best album was a good thing because there was no need to promote a new studio album, and it was a fulfilling tour that could be called one of the pinnacles of the Stones' live tours since 1989, and it is still highly acclaimed today. As the ratio of new songs decreased, the repertoire of past numbers became extremely wide, and the change in the set list became extremely large. In addition, the venue was set to theaters, arenas, and stadiums, so it was interesting to see the tendency of song selection reflected depending on the venue size. The benefit of this was the Budokan performance. And above all, the secret of the great success was that while maintaining the Stones' big tour style that had introduced the latest technology and support members to a large extent, they were able to regain their original roughness. As a result, this tour not only reached a new point, but also ushered in a new era in terms of live releases after the tour ended. With the advent of the era of DVD, a large-capacity video software, a wonderful item called "FOUR FLICKS" was released. It was a video software with a volume that was just right to cover all the live footage of the three different venue sizes of this tour. In fact, because "FOUR FLICKS" was so rich in content, it had the unexpected result of neglecting the regular live album "LIVE LICKS" released around the same time. The success of this "FOUR FLICKS" shifted the Stones' live releases to a video-oriented direction, and this release has been so significant that it continues to this day. This was made uniquely in Japan when it was released in 2004. From the mid-1990s to the mid-2000s, when video software was introduced as promotional material for releases, it was called EPK and became a must-have item for promotion, but it can be said that the time when "FOUR FLICKS" was released was a turning point when the so-called EPK media was changing from VHS to DVD. The EPK made in Japan for the release of this software was also made on DVD. The content is a 20-minute medley condensed from each live video of "FOUR FLICKS". This is a really well-organized medley edit that surprisingly conveys the flavor of this software, which boasts a magnificent volume, and it seems that this video was played in a loop at CD shop stores in 2004. This title contains that rare promo item, but since the original is a DVD, the image quality is ultra clear. There are no subtitles, and each video from "FOUR FLICKS" is simply cut into small pieces and continues, but it is very well organized and worth watching. Moreover, "PARIS SESSIONS 2002" is the sound source before the start of the "LICKS" tour, and by adding the promo of the live video released after the tour, you can enjoy the before and after state of the Stones in the "LICKS" period at once!
