Nearly 10 years ago, there was a huge sale of stereo soundboard recordings of the Rolling Stones on the nostalgic "Wolfgang" site. The great thing about them was that even though it was a rough mix, only stereo soundboards with multi-track recording were released. Currently, the "Wolfgang" site has changed its name to "CONCERT VAULT", but it was originally a site for publishing sound sources owned by legendary promoter Bill Graham. However, this site has released recordings from the Tokyo Dome in 1990, which Graham had nothing to do with, and even Stones live recordings performed after his death. It's what I dripped. The best example is Tampa in 1994. During the November 1994 American tour, where there were no audience recording items, this sound source astounded enthusiasts all over the world as a shocking multi-track soundboard. “TAMPA 1994” was a masterpiece that was released in a hurry, and it was a masterpiece that sold out in no time in 2013. More than 10 years have passed since then, and after receiving numerous requests for a reissue, the renewed version will finally be released this week. Since the original was a multi-track recording, the stereo separation of each instrument is wonderful, and on top of that, the cheers reverberate firmly in stereo between songs. Since no work has been done for release, the overall texture is dry, but the stereo feel is different from the dead texture of the sound board with a PA output. It's amazing enough to hear it now. The main changes we made for this release were to increase the volume of the left channel and adjust the stereo balance. The most important modification was to "Far Away Eyes," which was the highlight of the day. In the latter half of the song, there was an incident where the sequencer for "Sympathy For The Devil" malfunctioned, but when it was released in 2013, they misunderstood that this was a tape transcription and cut it, and then added another chorus of the song. I was patching parts. As pointed out in the research magazine, Mick made a mistake in starting the chorus on that day, but the mistake was used as a patch staff, resulting in a version with two mistakes. It is said that it had become. Therefore, this time we went back to the original sound source and recorded it in its original state without making any corrections to the problematic parts, eliminating the biggest drawback of the previous version. What's more, since we have adjusted the balance of the left channel, we have the advantage of being able to hear the parts in question more clearly. This is certainly a malfunction of the sequencer, and it was also a happening typical of the 1994 tour, which was also a technology tour. And speaking of the greatest appeal of this sound source, in addition to technology, on stage at a time when there was an overabundance of support, the sound of the horn section could not be heard at all, and instead, it was the essential point of the Stones. I can say that Keith and Ronnie's guitars clearly sounded from the left and right. It's true that the balance is different from the sound image of the actual tour, but the balance in which Keith's sound can be clearly heard is something that would be unimaginable on an official live album where the entire sound is well-organized, and it is unique to the rough condition. something like. For example, in songs such as "I Go Wild", you can hear wonderful cutting that makes you want to call it Keith's full-throttle, and I am deeply moved that even during the tour where the gorgeous sound reached its peak, Keith remained Keith... . As I mentioned earlier, we adjusted the left and right stereo balance for this release, so you can enjoy the two-guitar sound that is more typical of the Stones. And I'm thankful that the horn section, which has almost been wiped out, is still playing properly on essential songs like "Doo Doo Doo Doo Doo." Even now, I can still laugh at how funny Keith's replay of "The Worst" was, which was a hot topic in 2013, and the introduction scene where Mick introduced "Lisha Fisher" instead of Lisa. The valuable multi-track soundboard that gave us a glimpse of the other side of the 1994 "VOODOO LOUNGE" tour in every sense is back with an updated version!
