The Rolling Stones' BBC radio appearances produced many items as Brian's star sound source. Especially after the rebroadcast in the 1980s, masterpieces such as "STONES AT THE BEEP" on LP, "GET SATISFACTION IF YOU WANT IT!" on CD by TSP, "BBC SESSIONS 1963-1965" by Gold Plate, and "BEAT BEAT BEAT AT THE BEEP" by DAC were released, but when the official "ON AIR" was released in 2017, it all died down. However, this was due to the impact of the Stones' BBC finally being officially released, and it was clear that even at the time, the finish was unsatisfactory. First of all, the appearances that were only left as air check sound sources are not included. This was still unavoidable as a measure for general listeners, but even more than that, the song order was far from chronological order. Furthermore, the finish that was given the demixing process that was just beginning to emerge at the time is now a bit subtle. Ironically, the so-called demix technology has improved dramatically since the release of "ON AIR," and it seems a regrettable decision to use it for the Stones' BBC. And the most fatal error was the error in "The Last Time." The fact that this has still been ignored is an unofficial response. However, the sound spread and power of the Stones' 1965 appearance on "ON AIR" is quite good, and it doesn't sound bad even when listening to it now. However, the demix applied to the early BBC appearances such as "Memphis Tennessee" and "Roll Over Beethoven" now sounds like a splashy sound. It is true that the overall finish was far from natural in the first place. Despite the fact that it was officially released, the renewal of the culmination items of the BBC items came to a halt after the DAC version. It was "Prof. Stoned," who I hadn't seen in a long time, that gave a boost to such a situation. His restoration and release of the sound sources has come to an end, but recently he has started to organize the BBC live recordings of various artists. In the midst of this, he has compiled a compilation of the Rolling Stones BBC. It is truly a magnificent content that deserves to be called the culmination of a new era. The volume is far superior to past items in the first place. The content spreads across three discs, and it is surprising that it extends to the Mick Taylor era. As mentioned earlier, the air check recordings from that time that could not be officially released have been brushed up again, and the sound quality is generally improved from past items, so it is impressive. Also, in Disc-1 ``Don't Lie To Me'' from ``Saturday Club'' and Disc-2 ``Route 66'' from ``Saturday Club'', ``Prof. Stoned'' did not like the poor sound quality and the cut of the intro, so he copied and pasted another part of the song to cover up the problem. However, the live version of "Route 66" was arranged to start with Keith's guitar, unlike the studio version that started with Charlie's drums, so this edit is quite pleasing. All of this is because "Prof. Stoned" went back to the original recordings of all of his appearances. The results of re-recording from the original recordings, especially for those appearances for which the original recordings for broadcast still exist, are remarkable. In particular, "Yeh Yeh", the only BBC appearance in which the representative song "Satisfaction" was performed, was so clear that you could feel that "the sound has improved..." even in the interviews outside of the song. It's really refreshing and natural. Also, regarding "Top Gear", not only was "The Last Time", which the official blunder was, recorded in a clean state (which is natural), but it was also surprising that the ending tambourine sound, which had been cut from all items until now because the narration overlapped, was completely recorded. It is unique to "Prof. Stoned" that such clear differences in sound quality and content appear even in familiar takes. What's more, the groundbreaking thing about this release is that it covers the performances from 1967 onwards, when they stopped recording live shows. For example, the Stones provided the audio from the promo film for "Jumping Jack Flash" and had it played. Moreover, it's not the "yeah yeah" version, but the take where Mick says "pappaaan" during the interlude. "Prof. Stoned" also states that "This is not strictly a BBC recording, but was recorded to make it complete." Moreover, Brian's interview at this time, and even the audio of Mick Taylor being interviewed on an appearance after Brian's departure, are enough to surprise enthusiasts. It's also typical of "Prof. Stoned" to have organized the audio from the TV appearance on "Top Of The Pops" on the same BBC, and even the episode where Mick sang only the vocals live. Even in the 1971 appearance, where only "Brown Sugar" exists on the BBC, the remaining songs are recorded with the highest sound quality ever. Although it is still an air check sound source from TV, it is still incomparable to past items. Even more groundbreaking was the discovery of the audio of "Ruby Tuesday" from the 1967 appearance on "Top Of The Pops," which had never been recorded until now. Here, Mick also sang live. However, the biggest surprise this time was "Around And Around," which has dramatically improved sound quality from "Top Gear" included on Disc-2. Although it is only one song, I was surprised at the excellent sound quality that radio enthusiasts at the time received the broadcast on FM and recorded it with a plug. I felt that it was a show of the difference in quality from so-called AM radio sound quality air checks. Also, recently excavated sound sources such as "Not Fade Away" from "Joe Loss Show" and "Hi-Heeled Sneakers," which was previously missing the beginning, are included in perfect condition. To top it off, the poor sound quality sources and fragmentary sound sources such as the Hyde Park report (I was also surprised at the good sound quality of "No Expectations," which is played in fragments here), are compiled at the end, making it an impeccable new compilation of the Stones' BBC, which has not appeared in a long time.
