Since then, it has been chosen as the final stop of the 1978 tour, and although it is not as strong as LA Forum or MSG, it is a place that has a deep connection with the Stones. In 1994, four concerts were held here in October, but a professional shot of the venue screen for the final performance on the 31st was leaked early in the tour. As a result, it became the representative video and soundboard sound source of the 1994 tour, and as a result, there has been no release of the other three performances to this day, and some traders have been disseminating the 1994 audience recording. However, there were only sound sources on the market that had poor sound quality. The sound quality is by far the highest quality among the four performances discovered this time, and it is surprising that such a superb level of DAT audience recording has remained dormant for a long time even at modern Stones live performances. yeah. Since the sound board recordings appeared at a fast pace in the 1994 tour, starting with the TV broadcast in Miami at the end, there is a feeling that the audience recording items and releases were concentrated in the first half of the schedule. Washington, D.C., on the first day, where the battle for speed of release was heated rather than quality, was the best example, but thanks to that, audience recordings that were outstanding in terms of quality did not appear easily. If this sound source had been released in 1994, it would have undoubtedly been the best audience recording of the tour. However, its powerful superb sound quality has not faded at all even if you listen to it now, 20 years later. There is one other thing worth mentioning about the first day's live performance. It was a wonderful performance by Mick. Speaking of Mick's extraordinary power when he started singing the opening song "Not Fade Away"! (lol). Mick puts so much effort into it that the melody becomes questionable...it's the best. From there, he literally sang a series of passionate songs. Even regular repertoire songs like "Tumbling Dice" are so hot that you can understand them at first listen. The performances of songs such as "Shattered" are so energetic that it's as if the ghost of 1978 has descended, and even "Miss You", which is played every night, has Mick singing with more passion than usual. Since it has been captured, this is a real masterpiece. On the other hand, Keith has been called “exhausted” by Mick throughout this tour, and his unrestrained freedom is on full display here. In particular, on ``The Worst,'' he plays a fluent flamenco-style phrase before starting the performance, but the song itself is interesting because it starts over with the intro. The recordings from the other days may have been due to the taper position or the compatibility with the sound output from the venue, but the first half is not as powerful as the first day, but the sound quality of each performance has improved dramatically and is still wonderful. You can thoroughly enjoy the Oakland live performance other than the last day, which is a missing link that you could not listen to before with the sound quality.
