The 1972 US tour, also known as the "Stones Touring Party", started timidly in Vancouver and Seattle (the famous album "VANCOUVER 1972" recorded the tour), but the band tried to get into shape by playing small gigs, which they loved, at the beginning. The best example of this is the highly acclaimed "DEFINITIVE WINTERLAND 1972 2ND NIGHT", and after enjoying the party at Winterland, the Stones descended on the Hollywood Palladium as if to finish off the small gig. The theater later became famous as the venue for Keith's solo live performances, but for old fans, the impression of the venue as the stage for the 1972 small gigs is overwhelmingly strong. TMOQ's "BURNING AT THE HOLLYWOOD PALLADIUM 1972" is a masterpiece that conveyed the appearance of such a precious gig in real time. The sound source of this gig can only be seen on this LP, and as a result, the CD items have been released in the form of recordings from the TMOQ record, which has resulted in the value of the LP not fading. However, the sound quality of "BURNING AT THE HOLLYWOOD PALLADIUM 1972" itself is not a particularly high quality recording, with the appearance of an ordinary mono audience. You can't expect the sound image or power of the historical masterpiece "LIVE'R THAN YOU'LL EVER BE" released by the same TMOQ from the 1969 US tour. Nevertheless, the reason this board is so popular among enthusiasts is the overwhelming quality of the performance. It was clearly captured how the tour, which started carefully for the reasons mentioned above, suddenly gained momentum here. In addition, due to the constraints of the format of one record, it is not a complete recording (thanks to which the full set list of this day is still unknown), but the quality of the performance is still overwhelming. First of all, the aggressive performance of "Gimme Shelter" on the A side of the LP is superb. Of course, Mick Taylor's aggressive phrases explode, but the band's performance itself is full of momentum and very aggressive. On the other hand, on the B-side, "Midnight Rambler" explodes with the mysteriousness that is typical of 1972. This was also not felt at the start of the tour, and the song was even redone in Seattle on the second day of the tour. The performance with that momentum can be called the first masterpiece of the tour, and it is no wonder that the word "BURNING" was emphasized on the stamp cover. As for the sound quality, it was a monophonic audience recording that even had a vintage feel, as mentioned earlier, but it can also be called a miraculous sound source that made the momentum and power of the performance even better. Thus, CDs based on LPs have been released for the famous albums and performances that are loved by enthusiasts for the reasons mentioned above, but the analog reprint items also seemed to have reached their peak with the coupling of 1970 Essen (= Rubberdubber) released by VGP in the early 21st century, "TWO GREAT ALBUMS CHEAP," and the fact that no items have been produced since then also speaks to this. However, 20 years have passed since the release of the VGP version. It is true that the appearance of a new LP reprint item with current technology has been awaited. Moreover, if the 1970 Essen, which was one half of "TWO GREAT ALBUMS CHEAP," has been revamped by "GRAF ZEPPELIN," it is inevitable that the reprint of the Hollywood Palladium will be realized. In fact, the finish is simply amazing. The VGP version was also attractive for its powerful finish, but the transfer of this "GRAF ZEPPELIN" is very clean and natural. The difference is clear even without listening to the performance, just by listening to the report at the beginning of Mick and Keith's arrest for punching a cameraman in Rhode Island. The listening experience is exceptional, making the most of the characteristics of the original LP, and there is no scratch noise. This is another wonderful analog reissue that allows you to easily enjoy TMOQ's masterpieces without having to go out of your way to find expensive, poor-quality vintage LPs, and it is a clean LP transfer using the latest technology that enthusiasts have been waiting for! Directly digitized and mastered from the vintage original TMOQ master LP (matrix number RS 522 A/B)! On the VGP version, the high-frequency noise was cut out and the mid-range was raised, and the low-frequency was quite rumbling and lacked depth, giving it a somewhat artificial texture. On this version, the mastering allows you to fully feel the texture of the analog version, leaving the high frequencies intact while pinpointing the scratch noise. This is not a process that muddies the overall sound and hides the noise, so the scratch noise is removed while leaving the texture of the analog version almost intact. The original sound was not particularly good in terms of separation, but listening to it like this, it is fortunate that the performance is close. It is a mono Aud recording that is quite "listenable" for a '72 Aud mono, and you can listen to it in no time.
