The Rolling Stones' 1975 performance at the LA Forum was a masterpiece. While July 13th is the only choice in terms of sound quality, with both official and unofficial recordings, the July 10th performance stands out in terms of performance. The most famous performance of "Doo Doo Doo Doo Doo Doo" from that day was included on the Idle Mind LP "Charlie Watts and His Fabulous Rolling Stones," which also boasted excellent sound quality. However, even with the companion album "1975 Tour of the Americas," only six tracks were included, making the entire July 10th performance incomplete. It wasn't until the early 21st century that such enthusiasts finally found relief. Another audience recording, "Recorder 2," was unearthed, revealing the entire July 10th performance for the first time. Recorder 1, the same recording used on the previous LP, is a high-quality audio disc believed to have been recorded by John Wizard for Idle Mind. In contrast, "Recorder 2" proved a major success, allowing listeners to hear the entire concert for the first time. As soon as the recording became available, VGP released it as "1975 NERVOUS BREAKDOWN." While the sound quality was inferior to the LP source, enthusiasts jumped on it. However, in 2021, a further "Recorder 3" was unearthed and released as "L.A. FORUM 1975 2ND NIGHT," a fresh release. While this new release couldn't compete with the LP source, it still had a pleasant enough audio quality to listen to, and it has since replaced "Recorder 2" as the recording of the entire concert. While a historic discovery at the time, "Recorder 2" from the LA Forum on July 10th seems to have been completely overlooked. A low-generation copy of this unfortunate alternative source suddenly appeared online. This version is said to be a second-gen version, but this rare one was unearthed by Waz From Oz, who has delighted enthusiasts with albums like "SYDNEY 1973 1ST NIGHT: RECORDER 2 UPGRADE." While he's released this second-gen version, he's also been providing audio for this release, even providing live performance images from the day before it was released online. While some enthusiasts may have already heard the version released online, "Waz From Oz" was uploaded online in its original low pitch. He provided the audio with the hope that this could be fixed for the CD release, and needless to say, he thoroughly adjusted it. What surprised me most about this second-gen version is the overwhelming improvement in sound quality. This discovery revealed that the version used on the VGP disc was significantly out of sync. "Waz From Oz" is a "copy so good you can't tell how many times it's been dubbed," and the fizzing equalization adds to the problem. It was likely a desperate attempt to soften the roughness of the sound, but the combined effect is now unbearable. This time, it's so much easier to listen to, it's a truly astonishing upgrade—there's no comparison. Moreover, unlike the 2021 release of "L.A. FORUM 1975 2ND NIGHT," "Recorder 2" boasts the significant advantage of being recorded in stereo, which is further enhanced by this upgrade. Fans who were skeptical of the old VGP version will be amazed at how easy it was to listen to. While it still can't compete with the LP source, "Recorder 2" is also a fantastic recording. While much attention is focused on "Doo Doo Doo Doo Doo," whose mishap intro turned into a masterpiece, the high-energy performance throughout the entire show is also truly impressive. The band exploded right from "If You Can't Rock Me - Get Off Of My Cloud," which likely helped them overcome the mishap with momentum. Furthermore, "Recorder 2"'s stereo recording also enhances the sense of realism, vividly capturing the crowd's excitement during "You Can't Always Get What You Want" and "Midnight Rambler." It's impossible not to get excited after hearing such a performance. The realism of this sense of realism is also due to the sudden improvement in sound quality. And toward the end of the show, during "Jumping Jack Flash," Keith's guitar seemed to have had another mishap, but Mick encouraged him, and Charlie continued to pound away, leading to a thrilling performance that was truly cool. With the release of "L.A. FORUM 1975 2ND NIGHT," the July 10th "Recorder 2" was thought to be obsolete, but it has been unexpectedly upgraded!
