Roger Waters is back on the move. Roger achieved unprecedented success with “THE WALL LIVE 2010-2013,” but at that time he also said, “I might not do another tour.” In fact, there were only sporadic performances after that. However, in 2016, they announced a large-scale concert. This work is the audience album of the “September 28, 2016 Mexico City Performance” which is the first day. First, let's take a look at an overview of the activities announced so far. ・September 28, 2016 Mexico performance [this work] ・September 29, 2016 Mexico performance ・October 1, 2016 Mexico performance 《About a week later》 ・October 9, 2016 Indio performance 《One week later》 》・October 16, 2016 Indio performance《About a week later》・October 22, 2016 Mountain View performance・October 23, 2016 Mountain View performance These are the 7 concerts scheduled for 2016. Currently, we have progressed from 3 performances in Mexico to 3 performances in India. This work, which captures that first day, is a documentary sound that brings out the enormity of the big concert for the first time in three years. In any case, the sense of distance is amazing. In the sound source introduction, "distance" feels like a minefield word, but this is not about the musical tone, but the scale of the cheers. The venue, Foro Sol, is an outdoor baseball stadium with a capacity of 55,000 people, and the sense of perspective from the excitement up close to the roaring cheers in the distance is overwhelming. Just as a woman screamed nearby, tens of thousands of roars came like ripples from far away. I often describe it as a ``sense of scale'' or ``spectacle,'' but there are few recordings that give you the feeling of a huge space and fill you with enthusiasm. What's more, it's hot because it's a Latin Mexican style. I was a little worried about the uproar at the beginning, but once the show started, I generally got excited between songs and listened closely during the performance (though it didn't die down like it did in Japan or the UK). It's becoming. The musical sound that pierces through such a space is extremely neat, contrary to the spectacle of loud cheers. The granularity of the sound, the sturdy core, the beautiful ringing... all of them are wonderful, and if the stability is excellent, the bass, which tends to be a weak point in audience recording, is also glossy. Moreover, there was no reverberation that only echoed outdoors, and if there were no loud Latin cheers, I would have wondered, "Is this a sound board?" Only on the first day, which attracted attention from all over the world, records of this day have been reported one after another, but this work was carefully selected and supervised by a world authority on Pink Floyd research. It's still early days, so I can't say for certain, but I think he's the best master at the moment. The latest show drawn with such sound is the biggest point. It has already become a hot topic in various places, but the content is correctly "Pink Floyd Greatest Hits". The four albums that form the core are ``Madness'', ``Flame'', ``Animals'', and ``The Wall'', and all the songs are filled with Floyd numbers, giving it a great feel. As expected, there are only seven songs from "The Wall", but all songs from "Crazy" except "On the Run" and "Any Color You Like", and "Shine On You Crazy Diamond (Parts VI? IX)'' and all songs from ``Animals'' except ``Sheep'' and ``Pigs On The Wing 2''. There are some gaps from each album, so there are no complete reproductions, and the order of the songs has been changed, but they are arranged in roughly chronological order: ``Madness'' → ``Fire'' → ``Animals'' → ``The Wall.'' However, even though it is in chronological order, it is not "history", but only "greatest hits". There is one song from “Mystery”, “Set The Controls For The Heart Of The Sun”, and there are only two songs from “Meddle”. However, the two songs "One Of These Days" and "Fearless/You'll Never Walk Alone" are the biggest points. Both are Roger's first solo performances, and "One Of These Days" is his first since 1974. “Fearless” is an extremely rare song that is even considered a fantasy even during the Pink Floyd era, and you can listen to its live performance with intense and clear sound. The ultra-realistic audience reactions here are also worth hearing. ``One Of These Days'' screams with just one bass note, and the furious excitement spreads like a wave through the vast venue, while ``Fearless'' had a lackluster response, perhaps because people didn't understand the song. There are even people who talk to each other during the song, and you can enjoy the extreme honesty of the song. It is a document that shows its wide popularity, not just among core enthusiasts. Perhaps by chance, this giant of the rock world started to move along with Dave Gilmore's “RATTLE THAT LOCK TOUR.” This is a live album where you can enjoy plenty of precious solo premiere songs on the first night (by the way, Gilmour performed live in his native England on the same day, and the performance can be seen in "ROYAL ALBERT HALL 2016 3RD NIGHT" released this week) ). “Pigs On The Wing 2” has also been revived in the performance the next day of this work, and expectations are only increasing from now on. This is a great product that allows you to enjoy the kick-off performance as soon as possible. Live at Foro Sol, Mexico City, Mexico 28th September 2016 TRULY PERFECT SOUND Disc 1 (55:55) 1.
