Who would have predicted that starting with Paul and Ringo coming to Japan in the same year in 2013, members of the Beatles would come to Japan every year (including 2014 when Paul was canceled)? Were you able to do it? While the memories of Paul's visit to Japan last year are still fresh, Ringo will be bringing the All Stars to Japan for the first time in about three years. What a blessed situation! Another blessing was that since the All Stars entered a new phase, their constant performances in Japan have been realized. Since they started their activities in 1989, Ringo and his band have been known for touring with gorgeous musicians every time, but this means that the band has to be reset every time they tour. I will. However, when Steve Lukather, who joined the group when the 10th All Stars was formed in 2012, became a full-time member, the group became cohesive like never before. It's true that the participation and virtuosity of the members that sell each time is essential, but there is a limit to the unity of the band if everyone is replaced. That changed for the better with the addition of Lukather. The same goes for Greg Bissonnette, who has been with the band longer than him, and is a reliable behind-the-scenes drummer. 2016 was Lukather's second visit to Japan after joining the All Stars, and it was a wonderful tour that showed off the band's cohesiveness. This time, valuable footage will be released from the 2016 performance in Japan. What attracted a lot of attention when he came to Japan at that time was his performance on the second day in Tokyo, which took place on October 31st. As you can see from the date, this day is Halloween. So Ringo and his friends put up some fun Halloween decorations, such as placing a toy skeleton on the stage. Not only that, but each member also wore their own masks on stage, making it a special show. As evidenced by this, this day was by far the most visually impactful of the 2016 performances in Japan. Perhaps because of that, even though the Tokyo performance around 2016 was released on CD, it was not realized on this day. Understandably, at the time, many people said, ``I wish they would release it on Halloween.'' The 2016 Ringo All Stars Japan performance was very well received in the first place, and it was natural that there were complaints that the October 31st item was lacking. The day has finally come when such mania stops drinking. And it's a video! After all, it's Halloween without visuals. The valuable audience shots that had been hidden until now were provided as earphone masterpiece items from Paul's performance in Japan a few months ago, as well as the best footage from the Tokyo Dome and Ryogoku Kokugikan gigs. Made by the master who created each item that became a huge bestseller. That alone seems to guarantee the quality of this video, but in fact, this video is also wonderful. Of course, great items with HD image quality were released in 2016, but what sets it apart is the overwhelmingly wonderful video angle. The common feature between the items released in the past and this video is that it is an audience shot using only one camera. Previously released items were shot from the right side of the stage, that is, Todd Rundgren's side, but this time, the shot was taken from the back of the first floor, with an unparalleled classic angle that captured the stage directly in the middle and directly in front. Still, the close-ups are amazing. The finishing touch is that most of the footage is taken up by close-ups, and each person's solo parts are accurately captured! A common phenomenon in audience shots is that when the interlude begins, the audience is in a hurry to find the member who will play the solo, and the angle ends up shaky. In some cases, it often ends without being able to capture the members until the very end. I think it's actually a lot. However, with this video, you can easily catch the important points. This is especially noticeable in the two Santana numbers played by Greg Rory. Naturally, both songs feature Lukather's wonderful guitar solos, and they are perfectly timed and close-up, making you feel like you're watching regular TV. It perfectly conveys how Ringo is relaxing and enjoying the stage in the Halloween atmosphere. Particularly in the beginning, since it's Halloween, the actors singing while wearing masks are captured from great angles, and you can't help but get excited when you watch them. It is well known that Ringo has very light footwork considering his age. He not only happily sings his own songs, but also plays the drums in the background of each member, showing off his full range of activities as the leader of the All Stars troupe. He gets more and more excited, even pointing at Japanese people who don't speak much English. I'm really looking forward to seeing this lively figure live again in a few months. However, due to Todd's schedule conflicting with his upcoming visit to Japan (he will be coming to Japan alone after Ringo), he will not be participating in the 2019 All-Stars. In that sense as well, this video can be said to be valuable, and I was relieved to see Todd, who had turned into an EDM singer at Fuji Rock the previous year, come back as a true musician (lol) )There must have been a lot of people. Since it is such an excellent video, it is of course that it will be released as a DVD, but instead of the camera audio with a narrow range, the audio is selectable this time as well as last year's Paul. There are two types of wonderful audience recordings included. The quality of the first audio can be called the best in total, and even if you extract only the audio, it is at a level that could be released on CD. However, unfortunately there was a male fan nearby who screamed Ringo's name every time he sang. On the other hand, audio 2 has a sense of distance and a round sound quality, but it is also attractive enough to be used as audio for video, and the best part is that there are no harsh people nearby. Of course, you can easily select it even during playback, so please change it according to your preference or mood. Nowadays, advances in equipment have made it possible for anyone to take audience shots that maintain a certain level of quality, so we bring you that hilarious Halloween night with masterpiece footage that makes you keenly aware that it's the photographer's sense that speaks volumes. But again! The image quality is very beautiful. The quality of the content is also amazing.
