The legendary cult movie "CANDY" also starred Ringo Starr. This rare Japanese broadcast version is a unique appearance. This movie is a nonsense erotic comedy jointly produced by the United States, France, and Italy. It was first released in June 1968, and Ringo also appeared in the movie "Yellow Submarine" at the same time. Of course, the movie itself has been officially released on DVD, but this is different. It is the version that was broadcast on TV in the afternoon foreign movie slot in 1986, and it has been edited from the original 124 minutes to the program slot of 1 hour and 15 minutes, but you can enjoy it with Japanese dubbing that you can't get on a regular DVD. The quality is also amazing. It is a master recorded by a maniac at the time, but it is as vivid as if it was recorded yesterday. There is a crackling noise on the screen, but this is not the deterioration of the video tape, but the feel of the film that is typical of that time. Even the texture of the "60s movie / 80s broadcast" is clearly depicted. "CANDY" has been revived with such superb quality. The scenes featuring Ringo are the highlight of the movie, but the movie itself is even more amazing than that. After all, the Japanese title is "Candy: Fugue of Love and Sex". Here's a little promotional copy... "Candy, the sex fairy who danced from the far reaches of the starry sky. A new cinema that revolutionized everything from fashion to sex for today's young people! Candy play, featuring a luxurious cast of 11 big stars who provided sensational buzz in the West!" "Based on a legendary banned novel! The 60s fairy descends again after 30 years! Candy is "stylish and sexy" - just like "Alice from Sexy Land""... It's a pretty confusing copy, but it's not an exaggeration. With the remnants of the 60s Flower Movement in full swing, the fashionable and innocent high school girl "Candy" is attacked over and over again. This Candy is extremely cute. Eva Aulin, who plays Candy, was a beautiful Scandinavian woman aged 18 at the time, but even today she has the qualities of an idol. She has big, coquettish eyes, plump lips, a great figure... and above all, translucent white skin. There are no real scenes of sex, but that's why it's so exciting and has been described as "stylish sex." The old men who attack Candy are amazing. The cast includes great actor Marlon Brando, Richard Burton, Walter Matthau, James Coburn, Charles Aznavour, and others. It's a true all-star cast. However, there is no sadness or cruelty in it, and it's fiercely flowery. Brando is a yoga evangelist who creates a world inside a trailer, Burton is a charismatic poet who recites strange poems, Matthau is an ascetic soldier who preaches with patriotism, and Coburn is a genius surgeon who plays doctor in real life... The situation alone is explosive, but each of them desperately makes excuses and reasoning, and the innocent Candy wholeheartedly believes his words and gives her body to him. The great actor Brando takes off her clothes, saying, "Free yourself from the material world!", and then he says, "Feel the rhythm of the universe," and they lay their bodies together. The way he makes excuses is the flowery and free "60s itself." Ringo appears as one of these old men, and is the first to have the honor of having sex with Candy. He plays the (slightly dumb) gardener who works at Candy's house. He misunderstands Candy's normal request for help, and fidgets and thinks, "Come on in? You need me? You want me..." In the end, he attacks Candy, saying, "I absolutely give myself to you. I'm giving it to you!", and while stroking her beautiful body, he shouts, "Long live the revolution!" and reaches his climax. The point is that it's not just erotic, even though there isn't really a story. The music and art are tasteful and extremely avant-garde. The background music is full of psychedelic/art rock music, and the visual direction is also amazing. A temple that misunderstands Buddhism collapses for no reason, a cameraman laughs with fireworks stuck all over his body, and people have sex on a grand piano amid falling feathers. Even so, it is very easy to watch without the twisted, swirling processing that is common in psychedelic films. The music, visuals, direction, actors... everything is generous and amazing. While the appearance of Ringo is a must-see, this cult film is full of the scent of the "60s". This is the TV broadcast version, which you can enjoy with rare Japanese dubbing. Although the screen is set in the 60s, it also has the atmosphere of 80s Japan when it was broadcast in broad daylight (the TV commercials from the time of broadcast are also fully recorded). A masterpiece that brings together multiple eras. Broadcast: July 1986 "Candy, Fugue of Love and Sex" (77:47) 1. CM 2. Chapter #1 3. CM 4. Chapter #2 5. CM 6. Chapter #3 7. CM 8. Chapter #4 9. CM 10.
