That incredible video is finally here, in its complete version. Released immediately after the Japan tour, "TOKYO 2016 FINAL NIGHT: THE VIDEO" garnered rave reviews, calling it the "best video yet." While the masterpiece's quality was exceptional, it wasn't a complete version. Per the photographer's own request, the video was edited to focus solely on the songs sung by Ringo. However, the quality was so incredible that an incomplete version would be a shame. Hoping to share the incredible design with as many people as possible, we negotiated, and finally received approval to release the complete version, including every song and every performance... It was a sudden rush. If you're familiar with the previous "FINAL NIGHT: THE VIDEO," you're probably already convinced, "Wow, that's the complete version!" But for those of you who aren't, here's some basic information... This video is an audience shot from the final performance at Orchard Hall on November 2, 2016, during Ringo's first Japan tour in three years, which ended last month. This is the original footage, never before released, provided by the recording artist himself. Even more invaluable than its value is the quality. The image quality, angle, stability, and sound are all incredibly impressive. First of all, the angle was recorded from the second-floor seats on the left side of the stage (near Neal Schon), looking down. This allows the entire stage to fill your field of vision, unobstructed by obstacles or the hustle and bustle. Furthermore, the stability is exceptional, remaining completely unfazed despite the frequent use of bold zooms, even down to Ringo's waist. I suspect a tripod was used, keeping Ringo moving around the stage perfectly centered on the screen, while the smooth scrolling ensures a smooth, professional-quality shot. The incredibly vivid image quality of the latest digital equipment also contributes to this almost professional-quality shot. If the cameraman himself hadn't given it away, I would have thought it was shot by someone involved in the venue setup. In fact, the quality is so high that it was only when the audience's arms were waving during "Yellow Submarine" that I finally realized it was an audience shot. It's not just the visual beauty that makes you forget the audience was being filmed, but also the superb sound. Apparently, a separate recording was used, rather than a video camera microphone, but the clarity is extraordinary. The lavish set, filled with hit songs, should have been full of sing-alongs, but there was almost no up-close singing or applause; instead, the superb performance and vocals were swept into your ears. Perhaps it's the beautiful acoustics of Orchard Hall, but the sound is so superb it reminds you more of the "involved area" than the "audience." Just like the scenery, it's unwavering from start to finish. ...And that's the gist of "TOKYO 2016 FINAL NIGHT: THE VIDEO." As mentioned above, this release contains the complete version of every song in this superb video. The songs sung by members other than Ringo were not included in the previous release. The set seamlessly features a lineup of iconic hits that evoke the '80s, including Todd Rundgren's "I Saw the Light," "Bang the Drum All Day," and "Love Is the Answer," Steve Lukather's Toto hits "Rossana," "Africa," and "Hold the Line," Richard Page's "Kyrie," "You Are Mine," and "Broken Wings," and Gregg Rolie's "Evil Ways," "Black Magic Woman/Gypsy Queen," and "Oye como va." In addition, special guest Marty Friedman, who appeared only on the final day, also appears on this album. While he contributes only as backing on two tracks, "With a Little Help From My Friends" and "Give Peace A Chance," his presence is somewhat obscure on the live album. However, seeing him in person is a stark contrast, as he leans back and headbangs while holding an acoustic guitar. He is joyfully excited, exuding the kind of yearning that is so typical of metalheads. His innocent joy is typical of Americans, but his ability to read the mood and keep the performance undisturbed is a heartwarming scene that also hints at his long history in Japan. This final performance is filled with confidence and satisfaction at the success of the tour. This is a complete recording in stunning quality, featuring not only Ringo himself, but also each member's signature songs and special guests. This is the definitive footage of "Ringo Starr of 2016."
