It's been 40 years since the untimely death of the genius guitarist Randy Rhoads. A special Japanese memorial program that will touch your heart in the memorial year of 2022 has been decided. A super luxurious special program produced on the 20th anniversary of Randy's death. The true identity of this work is a TV program that was broadcast 20 years ago. It is a special program on Randy Rhoads that was aired on a certain commercial station's documentary program "NONFIX". We have archived various music programs in our store, but this work is one of the best in the collection. What makes it so special is that it is a completely original documentary. In the case of Western music, even if it is broadcast in Japan, it is almost always a translated version of an overseas program. Especially for documentaries that require countless interviews, it is a hassle just to apply for each person and schedule them. It would be one thing if you could shoot the whole band at once when they came to Japan, but it is impossible without a huge production budget, such as visiting acquaintances of musicians who have already passed away. However, this work has managed to do that. The only materials available are the PV and the classic "AFTER HOURS". In between, people related to Randy, such as Ozzy and Sharon Osbourne, Zakk Wylde, Joe Holmes, Rudy Sarzo, and Kelly Garni, commented, and even the Rose family, including his mother Dolores, sister Cathy, and brother Kel, and journalists who were close friends of Randy, shared their memories of Randy. Although each interview was conducted overseas, at a studio or home related to Randy, or at his grave, Japanese interpreters could be heard during the interviews, and the comments included expressions of gratitude to Japanese fans. There is no doubt that all the footage was shot overseas by Japanese staff. This is just my own speculation, but perhaps the timing of the year 2002 was a major factor in making such a luxurious program possible. Although this program was advertised as "the 20th anniversary of Randy's death," it was by no means just that. In 2002, the "DOWN TO EARTH" toured Japan, and the performance was filmed to be released as "LIVE AT BUDOKAN." Moreover, that was the time when the hit TV show "The Osbournes" started. Perhaps it was linked to all of those promotions... It's so luxurious that it makes you fantasize about it. A moving documentary overflowing with feelings for Randy... I was impressed by the strangeness of it, but that's not the essence of this work. It's nothing but the content of the program, which is overflowing with deep feelings for Randy. The program is structured in the correct style of a documentary, with comments inserted between performance scenes, and as mentioned above, the performances are not new, as they are familiar PVs and "AFTER HOURS". What's important are the comments that get into Randy's "personality". The story begins with the music school run by his mother Dolores, and follows his life chronologically, from his encounter with the guitar, the formation of his band and his passion for rock, his audition for Ozzy, his life on tour and success... In between, Randy's true face, which only his acquaintances would know, is told. He loved his girlfriend as much as he loved the guitar, when he came up with the idea for polka dots and bow ties, and his unexpected hobbies such as photography and model trains. Of course, there's plenty of music as well. Rudy Sarzo talks about the difference between the guitar sound in the studio and live performances, and the touch, distortion, and strings used from the perspective of a bandmate, and Joe Holmes reveals what the lessons were like. His brother Kel gives a glimpse of his roots, saying, "Randy taught me QUEEN," and his mother Dolores introduces Randy, who deepened his devotion to classical music, by bringing out memories of mother-son sessions and handwritten scores from his estate, and "the next music Randy was thinking about." Of course, the main focus is on his days with Ozzy. The shock of meeting him, the behind-the-scenes of creating a historic masterpiece, and his days on tour. The comments continue as if flipping through Randy's diary, and then we arrive at the fateful "March 19, 1982." Ozzy regrets, "Why did I survive and Randy die?" and "I should have gotten on the plane," and those words are passed on to the beautiful melody of "Mr. Crowley." And then there's that guitar solo, which seems to be dedicated to his soul... Although "AFTER HOURS" is supposed to be stuck in my mind, it has never been so touching. The people involved and fans who appear in the film all say, "Thank you for making a program for Randy," but it is true that there may not have been a documentary that focused so squarely on "Randy Rhoads" himself. Unlike many programs made for work, there is no doubt that the staff of this film deeply love Randy. It is because of the unique interviews based on that feeling that they were able to bring out the "Randy's personality" that lies dormant in the hearts of the people involved. 2022 marks the 40th anniversary of Randy's death, and the announcement of a new work that is rumored to be Ozzy's final work is approaching. This is the best video masterpiece to savor the "now". This is a piece that you should take this opportunity to face carefully. A special Randy memorial program produced in 2002 was released. It is a masterpiece documentary that takes about 80 minutes to get to know Randy's personality, making full use of comments from Ozzy, his bandmates, and the Rhoads family. 20th Anniversary of the Death of Randy Rhoads Feat.
