Another amazing piece from Kinney's original cassette excavation series is here. This work was recorded at the "August 26, 1981: Nippon Budokan" performance. The other day, we delivered the Kinney recording “DEFINITIVE BUDOKAN 1981” of M.S.G.’s first visit to Japan, and this work is also the same “August 1981”. It is an audience album that fully inhales the atmosphere of “that summer” that Michael Schenker’s new band and the new RAINBOW came in quick succession. I think there are many people who will never forget “August 1981” for the rest of their lives, but precisely because it was such an intense summer, a large number of records from this “DIFFICULT TO CURE JAPAN TOUR” have been left behind, and at our store, we have a large number of audience members. We have introduced the album. This is a good opportunity, so let's sort things out once and for all. ・August 18: Fukuoka Sun Palace “NO SMOKE WITHOUT FIRE” ・August 20: Osaka Festival Hall ・August 21: Osaka Festival Hall “DIFFICULT TO DEAL” ・August 23: Nagoya City Public Hall ・August 24 Sun: Kyoto Kaikan “KYOTO 1981” August 26th: Nippon Budokan [This work] August 27th: Nippon Budokan “BLACKMORE-TURNER OVERDRIVE” August 28th: Nippon Budokan “BLACKMORE-TURNER OVERDRIVE” (Note) : Representative audience album only for each performance) In this way, RAINBOW's 1981 Japan performance was a total of 8 performances. The highlight was Nippon Budokan 3DAYS, and this work is on the first day. As a matter of fact, we have already reported on this live show itself, and introduced it with masterpieces such as “SPOTLIGHT NIGHT”, “NOWHERE TO HIDE”, and “3 NIGHTS AT BUDOKAN”. However, this work is completely different from those. It is a live album woken up from the prestigious Kinney's original cassette. If you ask me if this recording is the world's first appearance, the answer is "Yes & No." In fact, it first appeared in the analog 3-disc set "A PARIS 1981". However, the main feature of this masterpiece is the "July 26th Hammersmith" performance. The third B-side of the three-disc set includes five Nippon Budokan songs (All Night Long / Smoke On The Water / Maybe Next Time / This work is the full-length version of the “Nippon Budokan part” (Since You Been Gone / Blues). In other words, it is the complete version that appears for the first time in the world (the tape change part is also supplemented with the already released version). , a complete reproduction of the show) *Note: The full-length version of “July 26th Hammersmith” performance is also introduced in the Kinney cassette reprint “HAMMERSMITH 1981 1ST NIGHT”. Please enjoy this as well. We have previously delivered "A PARIS 1981", a complete reprint of the 3-disc analog set, and those who listened to it were probably surprised by the sound of the last 5 songs. Transcendentally amazing clarity, an extremely thick musical tone that can be called ``like a line recording,'' and a sense of transparency that even the slightest electromagnetic noise emitted by the on-site amplifier is picked up beautifully during quiet parts... As mentioned above, this live has been introduced in many types of live albums, but even if those previous releases are bundled together, it cannot be rivaled. On the contrary, it is outstanding among all the audience recordings of the 1981 Japan tour... No, it is a transcendent sound that may be the best among the countless Kinney recordings. The first day of Nippon Budokan, which is depicted with such quality, is truly a “master performance”. I won't go into details because I feel like it has been talked about in specialized magazines and numerous reports, but it was a great concert that competed for 1st and 2nd place on the 1981 tour. Richie is especially wonderful, with his flowing guitar in "I Surrender," his unusual solo in "Man On The Silver Mountain," and the unique atmosphere of "Catch The Rainbow," all of which are beautiful. There are too many inspirational phrases to list. And Joe Lynn Turner, who is visiting Japan for the first time, seems to be stiff, but the singing is polite and the voice that stretches beautifully is exquisite. The song "Blues" that was heard on "A PARIS 1981" can also be fully enjoyed with the superb sound unique to the original cassette. Even more interesting is after the performance of "Love's No Friend". Perhaps there was a problem with the equipment, the tuning was a bit long, and Joe tried to connect with the MC, but no matter what happened, there was a crowd of Japanese people looking at the stage with childlike excitement, so how would he react? I'm confused as to whether it's okay. On the other hand, Richie, who is used to Japanese people, feels relaxed. Just a quick play of the riff of "Woman From Tokyo" elicits cheers of "Wow!". As soon as their equipment was restored, both Richie and Joe burst into flames with the hit song "I Surrender"... Such a process is recorded in a very detailed document (I ended up talking about it...). In any case, you can listen to the masterpiece of the 1981 tour with a fiercely wonderful sound. “Kinney Magic” is in full swing, and it is one that wipes out many previous releases. This masterpiece is recommended not only for those who attended M.S.G.'s first visit to Japan, but also for those who are listening to 1981 RAINBOW for the first time, and for those who simply want to listen to great hard rock with good sound. “Japan in the summer of 1981”, “Kinney” and “RAINBOW”. This miraculous live album is the result of these three encounters. Live at Budokan, Tokyo, Japan 26th August 1981 TRULY PERFECT SOUND(from Original Masters) Disc 1 (45:49) 1.
