The "May 12, 1980: Nippon Budokan" performance, known as a special night even in the "Graham Bonnet era". A great performance among great performances that has produced many masterpieces so far and was even called "RAINBOW's "MAIDE IN JAPAN". A new super masterpiece is born that conveys that miraculous night. Anyway, this live was special. The Graham era was a lineup of star players, and they only came to Japan once. However, the actual show was a tremendous hard rock utopia, even ignoring such spec data. The stars' virtuosity complemented each other, but they were supported by the Japanese audience, who have the deepest understanding of RAINBOW music in the world. It was a series of great performances that were exceptional among the Graham era live shows left all over the world, and were comparable to DEEP PURPLE's first visit to Japan. Our shop has archived a number of masterpieces from the special Japan tour, so let's organize them here along with the schedule.・May 8: Nippon Budokan "FACING GRAHAM" ・May 9: Nippon Budokan "DEFINITIVE BUDOKAN 1980 2ND NIGHT" {2 days off} ・May 12: Nippon Budokan [this work] ・May 13: Osaka Festival Hall "THE HIDDEN FORTRESS" ・May 14: Osaka Festival Hall "THE HIDDEN FORTRESS" ・May 15: Osaka Festival Hall "THE HIDDEN FORTRESS" *Only representative albums on each day. In this way, "Budokan x 3 times + Osaka x 3 times". However, it is more realistic to think of this as "Budokan x 2 days + Budokan & Osaka x 4 days". It is said that the balance of PA was not so good for the first two performances (which can be a good thing), but after the off-day, everything was perfect. It was a "miraculous 4 days" with "Will You Still Love Me Tomorrow?" added. A miracle happened again at the same venue as DEEP PURPLE's first visit to Japan, the "3 days of miracles". Normally it would be the "3rd day of the Nippon Budokan", but rather it was the "first day of the 4 days of miracles". It is the only Nippon Budokan and the most popular show in the Graham era. Many masterpieces were born from such a special live. Various masters have appeared, such as the press titles "GIGANTIC EXPLOSION" and "DOWN TO BUDOKAN", but the one that has been known for the longest time and has reigned as a classic among classics is called "SOLITARY TRAVELLER recording". As the name suggests, it was the first recording to be released on the analog record "SOLITARY TRAVELLER", and has since produced masterpieces such as "ON TOUR 1980 - ALL NIGHT LONG", "INNOCENT VICTIMS COMPLETE (the main part)" and "DEFINITIVE BUDOKAN 1980". This work is the latest and the best of the best. This is not a copy of a past masterpiece, nor a remastered reissue, but a superb edition by a newly excavated master. Of course, since it is the same recording, the points such as tape changes are the same as before. In this work, it is supplemented with other recordings such as "GIGANTIC EXPLOSION" and "DOWN TO BUDOKAN", making it the longest and best complete recording. In fact, the sound is phenomenal. Until now, the highest peak of "SOLITARY TRAVELLER recording" was "DEFINITIVE BUDOKAN 1980 (Darker Than Blue 195/196)", but this work is even more vivid and vivid. And super clear. "DEFINITIVE BUDOKAN 1980" was also overwhelming with the ultimate Gene's thick and natural sound, but the fineness of the details is what goes above and beyond. As is well known, the super-famous recording that does not feel any distance, but this work has an even more crystal clear air and a delicate sound. The high notes shine endlessly, and the mid-low notes shine black. Even the silence between the instruments is as deep as an abyss, and every instrument and every note stands out. Although it is off the beaten path, I will say it to convey the fineness of this detail: even the clapping and applause that is slapped is amazing. Even each "pa" is crisp, and it gets smaller and smaller as you go from the close seat to the far seat. It is because the details are fine and vivid that a sense of three-dimensionality and perspective is created. Of course, this is just an example. With this overwhelming freshness, the Stratocaster sound shines, Graham barks, Don dances, and Cozy's dynamism explodes. It is a complete guess, but this difference is probably due to the storage condition of the master cassette. Even without dubbing, analog tapes lose sound over time. This newly excavated master is a miraculous cassette that has withstood the test of time. There is no need to talk about the contents of the show. In the face of the fact that it has been called a "miraculous performance" and "RAINBOW's MAIDE IN JAPAN", any words repeated are vain. The most popular performance in the Graham era. This is the highest peak of that classic recording. The ultimate live album that has become even more brilliant. The performance, the audience, the recorder, the storage condition... this is a work born from the overlapping of multiple "miracles".
