What is recorded in this work is “March 14, 1984: Nippon Budokan” the day after the 2CD. This is a multi-camera professional shot taken on the last night of RAINBOW. This video was also made into an official DVD in 2015, but this work is different from that, and has been precisely digitized from the Japanese version of the laser disc at the time. Even now that it has been made into an official DVD, it is a vacuum-packed 2-disc set with the highest level of visual beauty that has not lost its value. In fact, this work is the best. It first appeared before officialization was realized, and a core Japanese collector borrowed a mint version of the Japanese laser disc that had been treasured and entrusted it to an overseas manufacturer specializing in analog video to digitize it. Moreover, it is a first-class product with particular attention to sound. In countless previous releases, the overall sound had a fluffy feel, but this work is a remastered version similar to "BUDOKAN 1984 REMASTERED EDITION". Recorded at 8000kbits/sec, the highest bit rate in the DVD standard, with crisp sound up to the high notes that surpasses even ``FINYL VINYL''. The glittering keyboard of "I Surrender", the cymbals and hi-hat of "Can't Happen Here", Joe's singing voice, and of course Richie's Strat are also extremely beautiful. “Catch The Rainbow” and “Street Of Dreams” which sound even more sophisticated, “Power” and “Fool For The Night” which have been revived even more intensely, the whole song sounds completely different. Such ultimate quality wiped out all previous episodes, but I thought that it had finished its role by making it into an official DVD, but that was not the case. Even when it was made into an official DVD, it was not possible to make it into a DVD with master quality, and it was not superior to previous products. What's even more disappointing is that the official version was recorded on a double-layer DVD. This in itself is not a problem, but a momentary freeze occurs when the layer changes. Don't think, "What's that about?" That freeze point was the highlight scene of “Difficult To Cure”. Yes, this is the climax of the orchestra performance that made Richie's dream come true. Many of you may have been left thinking, "Whoa, whoa, whoa..." when the screen freezes with Richie in a pose with his right hand raised high. However, this work is not a two-layer type, but a two-disc set. Although it is the same in that the show is divided into two, you can fully enjoy the highlight moments. I am overwhelmed with emotion to see such a historical show drawn with the highest quality. When you play the disc, you are transported to Tokyo in 1984. Just the opening scene, which captures the fans, the members, and the atmosphere at the venue in the pouring snow, makes my heart warm. Of course, the biggest highlight is “Difficult To Cure.” Ritchie's orchestral co-star is truly spectacular when enjoyed with this video and sound. The sight of Odai silently playing the guitar under the spotlight, the scene where the curtain at the back of the stage is lifted to reveal the orchestra...the natural image quality and deep tone are truly moving. Furthermore, the contrast between the majestic "Difficult To Cure" and the furious "Stranded" to "Death Alley Driver" is also a beautiful example of RAINBOW's style. And the last song is “Smoke On The Water” which starts in a ballad style with “Since You Been Gone” introduced. The audience at the scene probably didn't think ``this is the end of RAINBOW,'' but for those of us who know what happened afterwards, it was too heavy and special. Of course, there were repeated revivals of DEEP PURPLE and RAINBOW, but "that RAINBOW" never came back...The emotion overflows all at once. Even now that the long-awaited official DVD version has been realized, the pinnacle of “1984: Nippon Budokan” continues to shine. It's much more beautiful than the compressed bootleg that packed 145 minutes into a single DVD, and smoother than the official DVD, which freezes due to its dual layer structure. This is the meaning of "the highest peak that does not lose value" that I talked about at the beginning. Nippon Budokan 2 DAYS marked the finale of RAINBOW.
