This is an ideal album that has truly shaped a dream. This is the birth of a live album that depicts the "legendary Budokan" with the longest soundboard. The "legend" is "December 16, 1976: Nippon Budokan (evening session)". It is a masterpiece that has been adopted in the masterpiece "ON STAGE" and has been conveyed in many superb audience recordings. RAINBOW's first visit to Japan is also a special fame, and it is a show that has become a symbol of British hard rock. It is also a treasure trove of masterpieces and famous recordings, but the prolificacy of soundboards in particular was overwhelming. This work is a live album that makes full use of such a soundboard and realizes the longest version with the highest quality. First of all, let's organize the soundboard that recorded this day.・SBD#1: Part of the official "ON STAGE" main part ・SBD#2: Cassette owned by Cozy ・SBD#3: "THE END OF RISING" ・SBD#4: Three songs from "SOUNDBOARD ARCHIVES 1976" ・SBD#5: CD2 of the official "ON STAGE" deluxe edition. There are five types of soundboards in existence. Among them, the highest quality is "SBD#5" (credited as Osaka, but this is an official mistake. It is definitely Nippon Budokan). As it was officially excavated, the official quality, which was precisely mixed from the multi, was tremendous. However, unfortunately it was not a full recording. Whether it was to fit on one CD or there was a defect in the master, it was an incomplete version with the highlights of the second half of the show (from Stargazer to the keyboard / drum solo / Still I'm Sad part) cut out. However, this cut part was also left on the soundboard. That is "SBD#2". Yes, this is a Cozy tape unearthed in the legendary album "WHEN EVENING FALLS". This work combines these two long soundboards, and supplements the few minutes when the soundboard does not exist (the end of the drum solo and Over The Rainbow at the end of the performance) with a superb audience recording. Of course, it is not just a simple splicing. No matter how much of a soundboard it is, there is a slight difference in the feel between "SBD#2" and "SBD#5", which have different sources. Therefore, in this work, both are precisely mastered to minimize the sense of incongruity. Furthermore, "SBD#2" itself has been newly digitized from the actual Cozy tape (TDK SD:C90) with the latest equipment, making it a live album that has been made as perfect as possible. The full album that has emerged is truly the crystallization of a dream. Although it is a live performance that has been heard in many famous recordings, all of its notes are drawn with the ultra-vivid sound of the apex soundboard. Richie's guitar sounds lustrous in the brain, Ronnie's singing voice speaks directly to the soul, and Cozy's drumming feels like the vibration of the skin. Of course, this live show is also Jimmy Bain/Tony Caray's last show. The last night spun by the five people who created the great album "RISING", the complete show flows seamlessly without stopping, while spelling out every moment with the apex sound. When the "ON STAGE" Deluxe Edition was released, it was the complete version that everyone imagined. It is a live album that has finally become a reality. Unlike the regular version, which was produced by connecting several performances, including West Germany, "ON STAGE" is drawn in one show at a time.
