From the performance that RAINBOW held in Japan in October 1982 after the release of "STRAIGHT BETWEEN THE EYES", the Osaka Festival Hall performance on October 14th, the last day of Osaka 3 Days, was performed by two types of superb audience masters. , it has been decided to release a 4-disc set! This work uses original cassette masters provided by the recorders directly. Even in the 1982 Osaka performance, you can fully enjoy the performance on the 14th, which has been praised by enthusiasts as ``the most fulfilling live'', each with a different perspective and texture! In 1982, RAINBOW released ``STRAIGHT BETWEEN THE EYES'', the second work with Joe Lynn Turner, and young members such as Joe and new member Dave Rosenthal were actively involved in the production, and the album became even more popular than before. The style has an American taste. The extensive American tour that began in June 1982 was also a success, and Richie was getting closer to his long-awaited success in the American market. RAINBOW came to Japan with their American momentum and fresh charm. The 1982 Japan tour started with three consecutive performances at Osaka Festival Hall from October 12th to 14th, followed by Kyoto Kaikan, Fukuoka Sun Palace, and Nagoya City. As a result, we visited the same venues as the 1981 tour, including the public hall and Nippon Budokan (the number of performances was the same as in 1981, 8 performances in total). The main items for this visit to Japan are the performances at Nippon Budokan in Tokyo on October 21st and 22nd, both in terms of quality and quantity. CD titles include "SAME OLD DREAM" (October 22nd), "RIPPED APART" (October 21st) and "CATCH THE NIGHT" (October 22nd). Furthermore, there is also a unique item for enthusiasts called ``BUDOKAN 1982 FIRST NIGHT: Collector's Edition,'' which is a package of the 21st performance in multiple materials. Compared to this Tokyo performance, the Osaka performance (despite having the most three performances) was a little inferior. The only item that can be said to be ``this is it!'' is ``STONE COLD NIGHT'' on the 12th, and there are no items on the 13th or 14th that were made into CDs. However, this does not mean that there are no excellent sound sources. In particular, "POWER TO THE OSAKA", which was recorded on the 14th with the original master provided by the recorder, was an excellent material, with a high level of brightness, realism, and powerful performance. And this time, a new sound source was discovered at the live show on the 14th! This is also an excellent recording that rivals the above-mentioned "POWER TO THE OSAKA". In this work, this difficult to judge audience source has been carefully remastered and made into a press CD! You can fully enjoy the lively live performance on the last day of Osaka from a compound perspective! Discs 1 and 2 include "Recorder 1", which includes the latest remaster of the previously released classic "POWER TO THE OSAKA"! The original cassette master is used again. While taking advantage of the sense of realism, clarity, and gorgeous colors that have already been released, you can now enjoy live performances with a natural texture. This recording is made by Taper, who has made many famous recordings of live performances in Osaka. His achievements are clear from his past masterpieces, such as MICHAEL SCHENKER GROUP's Osaka '83 and '84, which were recently made into press CDs, and "HIDDEN FORTRESS", which is a compilation of RAINBOW's '80 Osaka 3 performances. From the opening song “Land Of Hope And Glory”, the excitement of the venue is very vivid. The explosive excitement of “Over The Rainbow” and the explosion of anticipation and excitement in “Spotlight Kid” are truly the best part of the live tape. The musical tone brings Joe's vocals and Dave Rosenthal's keyboard to the forefront, clearly expressing the youthful RAINBOW image at the time. Of course, Richie's guitar is also focused exactly at the key points of each song. The melodious guitar playing of "I Surrender" and "Stone Cold" and the vivid depiction of stillness and movement in "Tearin' Out My Heart" and "Difficult To Cure" are a combination of American pop and British dampness. You will be able to enjoy the ideal fusion. The passionate reaction to the DEEP PURPLE number is also unique to Osaka. “All Night Long” has the impression that the excitement has gone up a notch by placing “Woman From Tokyo” in the intro, and “Child In Time” which leads to “Stone Cold” has also received a good response. Furthermore, the climax "Smoke On The Water" has an irresistible enthusiasm reminiscent of DEEP PURPLE's first visit to Japan exactly 10 years ago! In this recording, you can enjoy a realistic document of the venue with ideal audience sound for 96 minutes! And on discs 3 and 4, the newly discovered audience master (also digitized from the original cassette master) is made into a sound disc as "Recorder 2"! The key point here is that Richie's guitar is easier to hear than on "Recorder 1", and the band ensemble can also be heard with a well-balanced sound image. The acoustics get better as the show progresses. "I Surrender" has a direct intro that feels like a line, and "Can't Happen Here" has wild drumming by Bobby Rondinelli, and you can clearly hear Roger Glover's bass, creating a speedy song. You can enjoy it to the fullest. “Tearin’ Out My Heart”, where Richie’s guitar tone is wonderful, and “All Night Long”, which gets the entire venue excited, are especially interesting when compared with “Recorder 1”. ``Stone Cold'' from ``Child In Time'', which strongly evokes the atmosphere of a Western music concert at the time, and the following ``Power'' are great listening points. Furthermore, “Difficult To Cure”, where Richie’s guitar resonates with the on-tone tone, will make you feel the strength of this recording. The explosive guitar crash of "Kill The King" (Kime also features "A Light In The Black") and the thunderous ending of "Long Live Rock'n'Roll" set the recorder 1 in the midst of a commotion. On the other hand, "Recorder 2" is a step back, and you can enjoy a big difference in feel! Osaka was the venue for the 1982 "STRAIGHT BETWEEN THE EYES" Japan tour, where three performances were held, the most. In this work, you can enjoy the final day, October 14th, which was the climax, in a freshness and vividness that could not be better! The recordings have a passionate atmosphere that is unique to Osaka, and compared to Tokyo, which is a bit too well behaved, you will be able to enjoy the lively atmosphere and sense of unity that is the original charm of rock music. At the Osaka performance, where a definitive version was needed, we declare this work to be one of the most powerful!
