“Ritchie Blackmore’s return to rock” has become a hot topic in the rock world. A live album recording the second night is now available! This time, RITCHIE BLACKMORE'S RAINBOW, which has been revived for the first time in 19 years, is a limited project (for now) with only 3 performances. Among them, this work includes “June 18, 2016 Bietigheim-Bissingen performance”. This week, in addition to "LORELEY 2016" on the first night, "LIVE IN BIRMINGHAM 2016" on the third night will also appear. Along with this work, the audience albums of all three performances appeared at once. First, let's check the positions for all three performances. ・June 17, 2016 Germany: Lorelei performance → “LORELEY 2016” ・June 18, 2016 Germany: Bietigheim-Bissingen performance → [This work] “One week later” ・June 25, 2016 UK :Birmingham performance → "LIVE IN BIRMINGHAM 2016" In this way, two of the three performances were in Germany, and the third performance was in his home country of England. Richie has said for some time that he will continue if things go well, but now all three performances have just ended. It is not yet known whether there will be a sequel. The premiere of Lorelai was so strange that the video popped out from the middle of the live performance, and the same was true for this work the next day. Currently, in addition to various videos, two types of full live recordings have also appeared, and for this work, we have selected the clear and natural sound. The sound is of amazing high quality. Although Lorelei was great on the first day, it was a bit far behind, and it was only with the elaborate remastering of "LORELEY 2016" that it was able to push it up to the press level. On the other hand, this work is a brilliant recording with a direct feeling that approaches “LORELEY 2016” even if it is recorded continuously. However, it cannot simply be said that it is "better than 'LORELEY 2016'". The main reason is enthusiasm. He clearly captures the joy of the audience as they rejoice at the “return of Richie” for the first time in 19 years. Of course, the extremely thick musical tone will not lose to the cheers, but the audience sings in chorus with “Highway Star”, “Mistreated”, and “Man On The Silver Mountain”. It is a type of recording that you can “experience” mixed in with it. However, the musical tone is definitely press class. Moreover, when the crucial guitar solo comes, the audience holds their breath and falls silent, as if they are discovering it. It is a live album where “that tone” resounds clearly. The “second night performance” drawn with that quality is wonderful. Although it is the day after the first night, the general performance is very similar, but Richie is in good condition, perhaps because the degree of tension is different between the “first time” and “second time”. There are many scenes where the performers go from checking each note one by one to taking a step forward and enjoying the performance. What's more interesting is the set list. These three performances basically had a common setlist, but on the second and third days there was also a special song called “Ichikkiri Kokiri.” Here's a quick summary... ・June 17, 2016 Germany: Lorelei performance → Only the basic set without special songs.・June 18, 2016 Germany: Bietigheim-Bissingen performance → Basic set + "Sixteenth Century Greensleeves" ・June 25, 2016 England: Birmingham performance → Basic set + "Soldier Of Fortune" + "Burn" Book Since this is the second day of production, the special song is "Sixteenth Century Greensleeves". Unlike other songs, Richie is familiar with this song as it has been played occasionally on BLACKMORE'S NIGHT. If it is a tightly decided phrase, it will be compared to the past, but here you can listen to plenty of “current Ritchie” and “unchanged Ritchie” in an exquisite balance. On the other hand, new vocalist Ronnie Romero is lacking in this song. On the first day of Lorelei, he was praised for his wonderful vocalization and was called ``the greatest achievement of this time'', but the highest notes in this song seem to be a bit blurry, perhaps because the range doesn't match. However, it's amazing that even the songs that don't suit her can get away with it, and the other parts sing wonderfully just like Lorelai. Following the first day, this is a live album that captures the second act of "Ritchie's return" with great sound. Ritchie-bushi is even better than the first day, and the ``Sixteenth Century Greensleeves'' added to the set are also delicious. There are only a few days left until the final Birmingham performance. The rainbow-colored sparkle has been revived in 2016, so don't miss a single performance!
