The new RAINBOW has returned to earth in the 21st century for only three performances. The decision board by the new master of the first day is now available! Of course, the first day is "Lorelei performance on June 17, 2016." It is a live performance that I reported on the 2CD “LORELEY 2016 (Black Box 003)” the other day, but this time it is a completely different recording. “LORELEY 2016” was a vivid mastering live album with a slightly distant master, but the new master that appeared late roars directly even if it is left unrecorded! As expected, the recording artist who made use of this new master was no ordinary person. In fact, it is a work with the same taper as Discs 1 and 2 of “BIETIGHEIM-BISSINGEN 2016” which was released last week and received great acclaim. It's easy to just say that, but many people may be confused as the number of recordings has increased. Let's sort this out once again. ●June 17, 2016 Germany: Lorelei performance → Recorder 1: "LORELEY 2016" →★Recorder 2: [This work] ●June 18, 2016 Germany: Bietigheim-Bissingen performance →★Recorder 1: " BIETIGHEIM-BISSINGEN 2016” DISC 1-2 (or 2-disc standard version “BIETIGHEIM-BISSINGEN 2016”) →Recorder 2: “BIETIGHEIM-BISSINGEN 2016” DISC 3-4 ●June 25, 2016 UK: Birmingham performance → Recorder 1: “LIVE IN BIRMINGHAM 2016” → Recorder 2: “BIRMINGHAM 2016” → Recorder 3: “BIRMINGHAM 2016 ORIGINAL MASTER” These are the full audience recordings currently available. Among the above, the ones marked with "★" are by the same recording artist. This week, “RECORDER 1” from the second day will also appear as a two-disc standard version “BIETIGHEIM-BISSINGEN 2016,” and this work is a brother work. As it is a brother's work, the sound of this work is quite close to that masterpiece recording. Extremely thick and direct musical tones, precise separation, beautiful guitar sounds, and even more passionate audience cheers... The original sound as recorded would have been sufficient, but as long as the brother recording exists, similar digital mastering was also performed. We have improved the clarity of the treble and the rumble of the bass to create the same quality as ``BIETIGHEIM-BISSINGEN 2016 (2-disc set)''. As a result, it is in line with "BIETIGHEIM-BISSINGEN 2016 (2-disc set)", which was said to have the highest sound quality over the three days, but has a slight lead. At this point, it has become the best sound of the new RAINBOW. The performance on the first day, which is described as the “best even in three days” sound, can hardly be called the best. As we have reported so far, Ritchie Blackmore regained his "rock groove" with one performance at a time, and on the first day there were no songs called "Only for this day!", just the basic set list. There is a sense of fumbling in the performance, and the clumsiness becomes noticeable in songs such as the opening ``Highway Star'', ``Spotlight Kid'', and ``Child In Time'', which have sharp phrases. To be honest, as I'm writing this, I can't tell if I'm recommending it or not (lol), but I'm sure this is the unique truth of the first day. It has been 19 years, 2 weeks, and 3 days since RAINBOW went to sleep at their “Denmark performance on May 31, 1997 (you can enjoy it on MAYBE NEXT TIME: FINAL CONCERT (Shades 195)”). Speaking of “19 years”, it is the same length as from “SHADES OF DEEP PURPLE” to “THE HOUSE OF BLUE LIGHT”. Richie, who has returned after a long time, plays “Mistreated,” “Catch The Rainbow,” and “Stargazer.” And at every moment, you can hear the breath of the audience, their eyes and ears strained, excited, and their hearts pounding as they ask, "What's the next song?" It is truly a two-disc set that is a historical document itself. Whether Richie continues to rock from now on or whether he stops, there will never be a live show where the weight and feelings of “19 years” will be felt again. A great recording that was captured with the best sound even in 3 days while being present in that space. You can collect it together with "BIETIGHEIM-BISSINGEN 2016 (2-disc set)" as a work by the same recording artist, be intoxicated by the beautiful sound of the peak, or witness a historical moment. The “rock Ritchie Blackmore” has finally been realized. I was tired of waiting and waiting, and even though I wanted to give up, I just couldn't give up.
