From RAINBOW's 1981 Japan tour held after the release of "DIFFICULT TO CURE", the Fukuoka Sun Palace performance on August 18th is now available as a high-quality audience recording using the new original master cassette directly. You can thoroughly enjoy the live performance in Fukuoka, which is especially famous for its encore incident during the 1981 performance in Japan, with excellent sound quality! With Joe Lynn Turner as their third vocalist, RAINBOW toured extensively throughout the United States from February to May 1981, then toured Europe in June and the UK in July, marking the band's new appearance. and the sound to appeal to fans. ``DIFFICULT TO CURE'', which featured Richie's guitar but aimed at a more catchy and pop musicality than ever before, surprised fans from the Ronnie era, but many of them lost interest in the band after their previous album ``DOWN TO EARTH''. It attracted the attention of not only fans, but also people who had no interest in RAINBOW (Joe's looks in particular were a factor in attracting women as well). The band will perform in Japan in August as the final stage of their 1981 tour. The 1980 tour had three dates each in Tokyo and Osaka, but this time the circuit expanded to include more areas and expanded to eight shows in five cities. In this work, the Fukuoka performance, which is the first day of the Japan tour, is almost completely recorded, up to “Fire”, which is the biggest feature of that day. The sound source of this day had appeared in several titles over 10 years ago, but no notable sound source had appeared recently. In addition, those previously released titles were somewhat unsatisfactory from the current point of view, such as incomplete recordings and inferior sound quality, so RAINBOW fans are happy that this item, which can be said to be the best at the moment, has appeared. That would be news. The scene of the venue is captured with better clarity than the live opening S.E. "Land Of Hope And Glory", allowing you to vividly experience the excitement and murmur of the audience. The freshness and condition of the tape are excellent, and the feature of this work is that you can listen to the live performance with a well-balanced sound image with almost no noise or distortion. Although the taper and the stage seem a little far apart, it seems that the equipment was firmly aimed at the stage, and the performance captured with bright and clear sound is worth listening to. In particular, ``DIFFICULT TO CURE'' numbers such as ``Spotlight Kid'' and ``I Surrender'' entertain you with their catchy and melodious songs in an ideal form. Since the Japan tour is about half a month away from the UK tour, Richie and the rest of the band have been playing with full energy from the opening. Furthermore, since it was Joe's first live performance in Japan, his singing was especially outstanding. The powerful singing that you hear on "Love's No Friend" has a charm different from Graham's, and you can feel the rich blues feeling that Joe originally has. “Lazy” where the performance shifts from the background and Richie plays again is a bit of a listening place (the following “Man On The Silver Mountain” has noise caused by the master in the first half, but it will recover soon). ``Catch The Rainbow'', where the stable recording of this work allows you to hear Richie's delicate play, is a must-listen for fans. It is also a feature of this day that the following “Can’t Happen Here” uses “Woman From Tokyo”, which is originally played as an encore, as an intro. The middle part of this live performance is an interesting performance even during the 1981 performance in Japan. At the beginning of disc 2, there is a cut derived from the tape change in the keyboard solo that introduces "Lost In Hollywood", but from this point on the sound becomes more on-the-ground, and "Lost In Hollywood" and "Difficult To Cure" You can enjoy both “Long Live Rock ‘N’ Roll” with great power. The most interesting part of the day was definitely from the encore to the final performance. This part was not recorded in the original master, but in this work, this part is supplemented from the audience recording of another material, and you can enjoy one of the best surprises at RAINBOW's Japan performance! The stage ended with great excitement with "Smoke On The Water," which Richie performed completely in Japan for the first time in eight years, and the familiar "Over The Rainbow" began to play, but in the middle Richie suddenly strummed his guitar and the band is back. They played Jimi Hendrix's ``Fire'' to the loud cheers of the fans, creating the most enthusiastic performance of the day. After the performance of the same song, "Maybe Next Time" was played again as the closing BGM, and to the emotional calls of "Richie!" from fans flying in from all over, the venue announced, "Today's concert is all over." Announcement with a hint of confusion...this is a memorable scene. It takes about 5 minutes from Richie's reappearance to the end of the real live, but this happening makes the Fukuoka performance a special live. Furthermore, the day before this RAINBOW live, MICHAEL SCHENKER GROUP held a show at the same venue, which can be heard in "INTO THE PALACE", which will be released simultaneously from Shades label this week. It will be interesting to enjoy the passionate performances that took place one after the other in Fukuoka in the middle of summer and relive the excitement of the fans at the time. RAINBOW's "DIFFICULT TO CURE" Japan tour will focus on the definitive soundboard sound source released last year, "DEFINITIVE SURRENDER DOCUMENTS," and a while ago, "3 NIGHTS AT BUDOKAN," a complete set of 3 performances in Tokyo, will be released. The sound source environment has been improved. This new work, which is a new addition to the lineup, will follow up the Fukuoka performance that was missing for a long time, and will fill in the "last piece" that was missing from RAINBOW's 1981 Japan performance sound source. The long-awaited special live show is here! Fans, please don't miss this work! Live at Sun Palace, Fukuoka, Japan 18th Aug 1981 TRULY AMAZING SOUND Disc 1(43:30) 1. Land Of Hope And Glory 2.
