From the 1977 UK tour that RAINBOW conducted after the release of “ON STAGE”, an amazing piece containing the Newcastle performance on the second day of the tour with the best audience source is an unexpected release! RAINBOW's 1977 European tour started with the Stockholm performance on September 25th, and ended with the Paris, France performance on October 27th, which was included in "GUILLOTINE", which has been receiving great acclaim from fans since its release the other day. A month-long UK tour will begin from October 31st. The first performance at Newcastle City Hall was held over two consecutive days on October 31st and November 1st, and introduced the band's new line-up and performance to British fans. This work includes the show on November 1st, which was the second day. The stability and visibility of the recording, and the ferociousness of Ronnie's vocals that pierce through from the center of the localization, are on a level comparable to the above-mentioned "GUILLOTINE," but the sound with the taper closer to the stage is more than worthy of its title. It's full of power that surpasses even that! In the commentary when “GUILLOTINE” was released the other day, I wrote that it was “the best take ever at the ’77 live show”, but I was surprised that a sound source comparable to that would suddenly come out. In fact, I have the impression that this work is a step ahead in terms of the liveliness and solid listenability that you would expect from a live performance, and many fans will give it their thumbs up if they experience the overflowing sense of presence and the interesting texture that is typical of a live tape. Isn't it? I even think so. The audience cheers and applauds from the familiarization play that Richie and the members listen to before the performance, and is filled with a sense of expectation that is about to burst. The first half of the live show is really the best, as the enthusiasm of the fans and the band’s performance spark all at once with “Over The Rainbow” and “Kill The King.” Compared to songs such as "RISING FALLS", which does not include unnecessary audience noise, you may think that it is difficult to concentrate on the performance, but for those who think that the excitement of the floor is also the flavor of a live tape, this is the one for you. You will intuitively feel that this is a sound source that “relives the live performance”. "Mistreated" reproduces the band's sound with great depth, and you can enjoy Richie's guitar with its excellent tone and gloss. In addition to Cozy's drums, the long solo in the middle that is played out to the unbroken clapping of the audience will make you sigh as you listen to it! On this day, the audience is truly enjoying the live performance, and they respond sensitively to Ronnie's MC in "Long Live Rock 'n' Roll", enlivening the live performance with a bright mood that lifts the hearts of the listeners. This makes me envious of British fans who don't have a "language barrier" between them and the band. The heated band and audience create a live performance with the best sense of unity in “Man On The Silver Mountain”. Richie also seems to be feeling the response to the performance of the live performance, the guitar is becoming more and more wild, and the groove and momentum of “Still I’m Sad” like a stormy wave has become uncontrollable. At the encore break, the band was drawn out by the explosive "Rainbow!!" call, and the spontaneous call of "Rainbow! Cha Cha Cha!", and the band went crazy, and the guitar crash exploded into "Do You Close Your Eyes". ” will knock out any listener! This sound source includes great immersion and sound up to “Over The Rainbow” after the show, and listeners will be able to enjoy the best 105 minutes! Until now, the sound sources of RAINBOW's 1977 UK tour have been limited in terms of variety, and the sound quality has not been as good as that of recent performances in Japan, but this sound source will drive a wedge into this situation. It will exist! I think everyone would like to collect such wonderful sound sources. Live at Newcastle City Hall, Newcastle upon Tyne, England 1st November 1977 TRULY AMAZING/PERFECT SOUND Disc 1 01.
