The last piece of “Graham RAINBOW” in its final stage is now available in the title! The Graham Bonnet era was called "the strongest RAINBOW," but disappeared after one album and one world tour. The “DOWN TO EARTH TOUR 1979-1980” can be roughly divided into 4 parts. First, let's take a look at the tour overview. September 20, 1979 - December 9, 1979: North American tour 45 performances (about 1 month off) January 17, 1980 - March 8: European tour 36 performances (about 2 months off) May 1980 8th-15th: Japan tour with 6 performances (about 3 months off) August 8th-16th, 1980: Scandinavian tour & MOR 4 performances August 8th: Denmark “ASTROLOGIST” August 9th: Sweden “ASTROLOGIST” ”・August 10th: Denmark [This work]・August 16th: 1st MONSTERS OF ROCK《Koji leaves》In this way, “DOWN TO EARTH TOUR 1979-1980” was completed after several months off. The tour is divided into ``North American Tour'', ``European Tour'', ``Japan Tour'', and ``Nordic & MONSTERS OF ROCK''. Powerful live recordings have been unearthed for each part, but the last 10 performances are especially amazing. All 6 performances of the "Japan Tour" have appeared in various types, and the 2 performances of the Northern Europe tour have also been made into press CDs with "ASTROLOGIST" and Donington with "MONSTERS OF ROCK 1980". Yes, this work is an audience album that contains the last remaining performance “Aalborg performance on August 10, 1980 (Denmark)”. This Scandinavian tour is a three-day mini-tour that also serves as a rehearsal for the “1st MONSTERS OF ROCK” appearance. The first and second days are summarized in “ASTROLOGIST”, which was praised as “just like a sound board”, but the final day “August 10th” missed out on press because it “dropped a notch”. However, even though it is said to be “a step down”, it is compared to that “ASTROLOGIST”, so this work is not an ordinary audience recording. Although it does not have the direct feeling of "ASTROLOGIST", which was said to be "like a sound board", and the recording gives a sense of distance, the sound quality and balance are excellent. While giving a sense of the spaciousness of a real venue, the performance reaches even the subtlest details without becoming loud or distorted. The audience did not interrupt the performance, and the spectacle of handclaps that spread naturally throughout the venue could be said to be even better than that of ``ASTROLOGIST''. It's no wonder that some people say, "I like it better than ASTROLOGIST." It's a powerful recording. And the most important live performance is even more wonderful than that sound. As I mentioned earlier, this Scandinavian tour also serves as a rehearsal after about three months off, so on the first and second days I felt like I was fumbling around, and I couldn't really show my true potential. However, in this work on the third day, although Graham felt a little tired, the communication between the performers was revived beautifully. You can listen to the ensemble that is ready for the historic “1st MONSTERS OF ROCK”. I've written this at length, but this is actually the biggest point of this work! You can listen to "Stargazer" being played in that upbeat tone!! As I have repeated many times, this Scandinavian tour was a practice schedule for Donington, and "Stargazer" was performed to be performed at the "1st MONSTERS OF ROCK". "Stargazer" was also playing every night. Therefore, when you listen to it side by side with “ASTROLOGIST”, you can clearly see that the level of perfection of “Stargazer” increases with the band’s condition, and the “missing link” to the historical performance of MONSTERS OF ROCK, which is the big production, is connected. The last 10 performances of “Graham RAINBOW” where all live records remain. This last piece, this work, is also the last piece that connects "ASTROLOGIST" and "MONSTERS OF ROCK 1980". And because of this work, it is possible to completely collect “Graham version Stargazer”, which has only been done four times. It's worth listening to as a single live album, and it's a two-disc set with extremely rare takes that will make your collection perfect.
