This is a reissue of a special album that we hope you will enjoy in 2016, when RAINBOW's revival is just around the corner. This work is a live album containing RAINBOW's last concert held in 1997. The final performance was ``May 31, 1997 at Sbjel Festival (Denmark)''. This work contains such a memorial live, but the sound that flows out is of high quality as if shouting "Rare value doesn't matter!" The highest quality sound quality continues for 1 hour and 33 minutes, allowing you to enjoy the entire show with clarity comparable to line recording. This last concert was also a one-time special live. The main part of the tour has already ended, and this day was their first live show about two months ago. However, the band's ensemble and combination were still perfect. It seems that they rehearsed without Richie, who had gone to see Jethro Tull who appeared at the same festival the day before, but he also gave a very high quality performance in this work. The show was well worth listening to, with the MC also singing songs one after another in short bursts. Doogie White's emotional vocals are also in top form, giving a splendid performance on each song. Perhaps it's because it's his first live performance in a while, but Richie has a lot of fumbling plays left to his own hands, but you can enjoy plenty of unique plays in various places. John Miceli (pronounced Macheri), the last RAIBOW member who joined in 1997, has toured with Meatloaf and Blue Oyster Cult, and he plays straight and fearless drumming. I'm pounding hard along with Richie's solo. Let's list some highlights. In the second half of "Long Live Rock 'n' Roll," a familiar Scottish folk-style ad-lib song appears. The texture of the vocals and guitar in the 6 minute range is impressive. “Mistreated” is a straight performance with no prelude. When the overall performance gets heated up, the bass sound gets a little buzzy, but "Mistreated" may be unprecedented in the past, where the guitar solo and rhythm section play are recorded so clearly. The drumming on “Wolf To The Moon” is also straightforward and cool. Her vocals are also superb, and she maintains the melody beautifully even during the hard parts, and I'm captivated by her powerful and controlled singing ability. The song is a medley of "Difficult To Cure". Although it is a compact live arrangement, the powerful drums and bass that drive the whole thing are overwhelming, allowing you to experience a wonderful drama. In the second half of “Still I’m Sad,” where the vocals and rhythm section are the best, there is a powerful bass and drum solo. In the intro of “Man On The Silver Mountain”, you can listen to a funky jam-style performance that is not very RAINBOW-like. Once the song starts, the performance is great, and the sound is just so moving. Paul Morris's organ backing is also wonderful. Perhaps because of the festival time, the MC is also short and “The Temple Of The King” starts with Richie’s riff lead. Richie's long solo of nearly 3 minutes in the song is well organized, and you can listen to the most moving performance of the day. The twin vocals of Dougie and Greg are also wonderful. The dramatic "Black Masquerade", which starts "The Temple Of The King" like an intro, is also a great listen, with a wonderful contrast between the flowing vocals and the energetic band ensemble. You can listen to Candice's chorus at the end of the famous song "Ariel" where you can enjoy a solid performance. The main set of the day will be proudly concluded with “Blues”, “Since You Been Gone”, and the big song “Perfect Strangers”, which will be played with a short intro. For the encore, Richie decides on a powerful solo, the members also support with jam-like performances, and it flows into “Burn” as it is. Paul's seasoning is good, with the glissando of "Since You Been Gone" and the whirring synth of "Burn". John's drumming also pulls the whole thing with great effort, like Pace at his peak. And the most interesting thing to listen to is the last song of RAINBOW. This is “Maybe Next Time” from the final encore, which is also the title of this work. It's a moving song with Paul's Hammond in the background, but perhaps Richie himself was aware that it was RAINBOW's last number, and the lonely plucking of the guitar sinks into your heart. Actually, originally, the last number of the core was supposed to be played after this. It was "Smoke On The Water" with Cozy Powell as a guest. However, even though it was actually scheduled, the time of the festival ran out and it was postponed. What a waste... June 2016, 19 years after this live show. Finally, RAINBOW is finally back. The rainbow-colored world that I had been waiting for, or rather, that I had given up on a long time ago and thought would never return, is returning. There's only a little time left until then. It's just a little more patience. This is a book that will help you hold back those uncontrollable feelings and somehow hold out the countdown. It is a memorial and high quality live album that is suitable for its role. Please enjoy this work with your heart's support.
