Frankie Vannelli passed away on August 20, 2020. He was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in April last year and passed away at the age of 68 after a 16-month battle with the disease. He was known as a connoisseur of Japan, deeply devoted to Bushido and Zen, and loved tea ceremony even in his final days. It is said that his last stage performance was “LED ZEPPELIN REVIVAL SHOW 2019 “Back To Knebworth 1979”” which he came to Japan in December of last year while he was battling illness. Frankie has participated in various bands/projects, but the one that was most successful and made his name known to the world is undoubtedly QUIET RIOT. In memory of him, we have reprinted a fantastic official video work that will remind you of the golden age. [The highest visual beauty in history achieved because it is an extremely rare laser disc] The official work is "BANG THY HEAD"... but many people may not know it. This video work is a home video released in 1986, when he was all the rage as a leading figure in the metal scene. This is a video compilation of promo clips created from three albums: "METAL HEALTH," "CONDITION CRITICAL," and "QR III." This is a style of video work that spread with the spread of VCRs, but for some reason this work was never released in Japan. Only a few imported copies were available. Moreover, this work is the highest version that has been precisely digitized from the extremely rare laser disc disc. After all, speaking of laser discs back then, decks still cost around 100,000 yen, and the catchphrase "records with pictures" was still fresh. Furthermore, if it is an imported version, it is extremely rare. This work borrows a mint quality record owned by a core collector who was collecting them at that time. We commissioned a manufacturer specializing in analog video to turn it into a DVD. Its quality is truly the ultimate. The bright edges and colors are super beautiful. Laser discs have higher image quality than VHS in terms of resolution, but they also have playback accuracy with no distortion and a level of freshness with no visible deterioration that is impossible with VHS. Even though it is an analog image, it is vivid even to the modern eye of the digital age...I should say that the image quality is so beautiful that you will think, ``Is this really the image quality of the 80s!?'' [Symbolic video of the era when "heavy metal" was the most dazzling] What is depicted with such visual beauty that is far removed from the 80's is a collection of masterpiece clips that are the essence of the 80's. Omoto's "BANG THY HEAD" contained 5 songs, but this work also includes "Twilight Hotel", which was leaked from the official product. We have completely covered the clips of Golden Age ``METAL HEALTH'', ``CONDITION CRITICAL'', and ``QR III''. The lineup is...・METAL HEALTH: Cum On Feel The Noize/Metal Health (Bang Your Head)・CONDITION CRITICAL: Party All Night/Mama Weer All Crazee Now・QR III: The Wild And The Young/Twilight Hotel... And it looks like this. Just by looking at the song title, you can tell how concentrated it is, but it's even more intense when it comes with a video. Fluffy hair is tossed and glittering American HRs pop out one after another. Sound effects and dialogue were overdubbed into the story-like video, and the members not only performed but also acted. All of it has a very 80's feel to it, making it feel like a 30-minute MTV special. Although their golden age was short, QUIET RIOT in the 1980s definitely symbolized the new music "heavy metal" and ruled the scene. This is a piece that concentrates the famous song and flavor with video. A supreme video work with the highest level of visual beauty that could only be preserved using laser discs.
