The legendary live video "LIVE IN JAPAN" has been revived with the highest quality ever. QUEEN is a band that has continued to release ambitious works not only in albums but also in videos, but this is the first live video they have released. The one that was chosen for this memorable honor is the multi-camera pro shot of the "November 3, 1982: Seibu Baseball Stadium" performance, which was also the final performance of "HOT SPACE TOUR 1982" in Japan. This video was only released in Japan. It has been reissued several times on VHS and laser disc, but it has not been released worldwide. In 2004, it was released on DVD as a bonus video for "QUEEN ON FIRE - LIVE AT THE BOWL", but it was only half-baked with only 6 songs in net. It is a legendary video that has attracted the envious gazes of overseas enthusiasts. In this work, we used a mint quality version of the Japanese laser disc that was treasured by a core enthusiast. We entrusted it to a specialist overseas analog video manufacturer and made it into a DVD in a professional high-end environment. The image is truly the best ever. Laser discs are different from VHS in terms of scanning line standard, but the image beauty spreads across the screen without any running twist or screen distortion, which is the fate of magnetic tape. Moreover, the digitization by specialized manufacturers has brought out all the information that laser discs had, and it is far more lustrous than the memories we are used to seeing on consumer devices. In the previous reprint series, we have received great reviews such as "It's more beautiful than our lasers," but you can enjoy the special quality of that collection. The young QUEEN depicted with such quality is full of dazzling brilliance. To be honest, it's the final performance of the seven-month "HOT SPACE TOUR 1982" and the tour fatigue cannot be hidden (which is why we may not be able to expect a large-scale DVD release). Freddie Mercury in particular was not in top form, perhaps because he had hurt his throat during the cold outdoor performance in November, but the spirit of squeezing out the voice that could not come out and the power of the performance that bounced back the cover were amazing. The surging spirit of the blast was also felt in the audience recordings, but the performance that makes full use of the 36-year-old's body is vivid only because it is a video. You can witness it in the highest official professional shot in history (even so, to release it officially without replacing it...). The set list is also delicious. The shortened size of about an hour is far from a full set, but it still includes "Love of My Life", which was not done in other countries, and "Teo Torriatte", which is unique to Japan. The fact that they did not take the trouble to remove the songs that were only performed in Japan seems to show their feelings that they felt Japan was special. In fact, there was a mistake in the middle of "Teo Torriatte" at the scene, but in this work, the official edited and repaired it. It has a natural finish. For these songs, a chorus of female fans erupts, and the unique Japanese singing voice is very moving. This day was Freddie's last performance of songs such as "Teo Torriatte", "Flash's Theme/The Hero", "Put Out The Fire" and "Save Me". These are songs that touch the heart with their final melodies, even though they were first live works. QUEEN always had a special relationship with Japan. Unfortunately, they were not in top form, but they still chose Japan for their first live work, and showed a passionate performance that pushed back against the poor performance with their spirit. This is a monument that officially carves their image and the Japanese singing voices that they loved. A video work that was the envy of maniacs around the world.
