This work was filmed at the “December 8, 1980 Kansas City performance.” Yes, it is a show the day after the 2CD Chicago performance. The biggest point is its preciousness and incredible visual beauty. In fact, it is an 8mm film that was released last year (2018) over 40 years. At the end of the 1970s, handy video cameras were not yet widespread, and 8mm cameras were the norm. However, the time available for photographing concerts was short, and only a limited number of materials were available. However, modern times are different. Records from the 1970s have a historical feel, and the internet has become popular. An increasing number of people are disclosing important records, even if it's only a small amount of footage. This work is also a discovery of such 8mm film. It's not a long record of the show, but a fragment of about 13 songs that were recorded on two films. Each song lasts from a few seconds to two and a half minutes at most, and the total length is just under seven minutes. Therefore, you cannot enjoy the whole show or one song, but the visual beauty and reality that you can't help but introduce even if you press it is overwhelming. Speaking of “JAZZ TOUR,” 8mm footage of Rotterdam and Buffalo performances have been discovered, but this work easily surpasses them. The original film has no dubbing marks like VHS, and thanks to its miraculous state of preservation, there is no noise or film stains at all. The twinkling lighting system that fills the ceiling, Freddy's brave figure in leather, and the rising smoke are all exactly like those days, and extremely delicate. The film has a beautiful feel that gives it a sense of elegance. Even more surprising is the sound. Most of the excavated 8mm recordings are silent, but this work had sound recorded as well. Moreover, it is extremely good. We move around the venue and shoot from various angles, but all of them have the best sound. Since separate recordings are not synchronized later, you can enjoy the show as a digest without the sense of discrepancy between the action and the music. It's a blissful 7 minutes just to be able to watch it, but the most valuable part is the end of "Spread Your Wings". QUEEN can be seen coming down to the B stage for an acoustic set. This work is the only video that allows you to witness this scene. Although it is the next day, it is a valuable video that shows us the “other side” of the 2CD. And, even more than that, it is a piece that impresses me with the fact that it was excavated in 8mm of the highest quality. Although it is a maniac, it is a historical masterpiece that allows you to see Freddie at the age of 32 with the naked eye Live at Kemper Arena, Kansas City, MO, USA 8th December 1978 1.
