"Rock in Rio" was held on a large scale in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil for 10 days from January 11th to 20th, 1985, and Queen performed on the 11th and 18th of the first day. stage and the headlining show on 2 stages. In front of a huge audience of approximately 250,000 people, each of which filled the field, Queen performed a large-scale live performance that excited the audience. This midnight stage on January 18th (the actual date was the 19th) was broadcast on TV, and a one-hour digest was later released on LD and video, giving fans one of the most popular 80's Queen concert videos. As such, it has become familiar to fans. This disc contains the live footage of "Rock in Rio" that was broadcast on commercial television at the time. (The program title is "Live in Rio") The content is the same as the official software, but because it is squeezed into the broadcast time slot (just over 43 minutes excluding commercials), the last songs "We Will Rock You" and "We "Are The Champions" has not been broadcast yet, and after "Radio Ga Ga" ends, "Sheila E" suddenly becomes a close-up with the caption "The next corner is a special report! Sheila E Live". The commercial consists of two parts after Liar and Love Of My Life (Sheila E appears here as well).Although the content is familiar, the title subtitles in katakana that appear at the beginning of each song are fresh. It's A Hard Life" and "Bohemian Rhapsody" feature unique parallel translations that are interesting to watch. (When you're in love at the end of the chorus of "It's A Hard Life" is said to be "this is also the fate of those who are in love", which is very Showa-era and has a great impact! I was as fascinated by the translation as I was by Freddie's performance!) ) In terms of content, as is familiar from the official version, there are not only a small number of songs, but also the forced introduction of Seven Seas Of Rhye, the cut between Keep Yourself Alive and Liar, and Now I'm Here. It is an editing that is very typical of the time, with improv cuts etc. forced into the frame, and it gives the impression that it is very compact in terms of content, but above all, it is a very valuable Nippon Television broadcast version. At that time, there were no programs on TV that broadcast live Western music for such a long period of time, with the exception of NHK's "Young Music Show," so it was a very nostalgic take for fans who had enjoyed it on terrestrial TV. I guess you can say that. The image quality is also good, making it a must-see and must-have for fans, and worth adding to their collections.
