Contrary to the general image, the secret behind the huge support of the Hot Space Tour among enthusiasts around the world is that the black-leaning sound of the album evolved into a stunning Queen rock on the live stage. The album even enlisted the help of Arif Mardin to add a deep horn sound, and Freddie and John's black-leaning sound was strongly pushed, especially on side A, which caused controversy when it was first released. This has now been reevaluated, but on stage, the arrangement was supported by Brian's guitar sound more than on the album, resulting in a stunning live version that blends more Queen-like tastes, and each song looks great on stage. For example, in "Staying Power," John borrowed Brian's black Telecaster (used for the interlude of "Crazy Little Thing Called Love") to create a funky hard rock that was different from the album. Freddie's amazing voice determined the overwhelmingly innovative 1982 Queen live sound and its intense impact. It was already clear during the video recording in Montreal the previous year, but it is no exaggeration to say that it reached its peak during the European leg of the Hot Space Tour. Both the sound and vocal performance reached the heights. In one word, these elements are "peak", which is the reason why this tour is so popular among enthusiasts. This time, our shop is not only releasing the Frankfurt performance, which is the masterpiece of the Hot Space Tour in April. There are many other masterpieces in the European leg. So, for the other release, we selected the masterpiece of May. That is the Vienna performance on the 12th and 13th. These two days also established an unshakable reputation among enthusiasts as the masterpieces of the European leg of the Hot Space Tour. Here too, Freddie's singing voice is spectacular! The charm unique to the Hot Space Tour, combined with the momentum-filled performance, is packed into the two days. Let's start by listening to the first day. The sound image of both audience recordings from the two days is more distant than that of the Frankfurt recording, but that is rather a big attraction and a unique sound quality that can be listened to carefully. Freddie was flying from the beginning of the live performance. At the end of "Somebody To Love", he was so excited that he was moved as if he had not sung enough songs. Freddie's tension was also unusually high in the piano-based song "Save Me", and just listening to these two songs should make you feel that he was in a different, upper condition. After all, there is something special about the Hot Space Tour and the European leg. As you can see from listening to this far, Freddie's presence is overwhelming on the basic Hot Space Tour, and it can be said that this reflects his and Brian's positions on the album. However, Brian on this day showed off his presence in both good and bad ways, not to be outdone by Freddie. During the guitar solo where he is in the spotlight, there is a very rare scene where he plays the riff of "I Go Crazy" (later released as a coupling of "Radio Ga Ga"), which was probably not written at the time. This is a part that you definitely can't miss, as the development is so familiar that even enthusiastic enthusiasts may pass it by! However, what about the play that was occasionally glimpsed during this tour, which was a bit sloppy when it came to the interlude of "Bohemian Rhapsody"? However, the whole live performance was wonderful without any exaggeration on this day, and when the show ended and "God Save The Queen" was played, Freddie hummed along with it, which was also a very rare scene to conclude. The audience recording on the second day is attractive for its delicate texture, unlike the bold texture of the previous day. However, what is surprising is that Freddie's voice is not tired at all despite the two consecutive days of the stage. Rather, it seems that he is flying even more than the previous day, and it is so amazing that he reaches his peak with "Action This Day" as soon as possible. The good reaction to this song and other songs from "Hot Space" may also be the reason why Freddie was in such a good condition. The final song was "Body Language", which was performed live for the first time on this day. This song is famous for the "Wow, they're doing it" reaction of Japanese fans to our release "SPACE BOOGIE" (lol), but here too, the rock with a dozkoi rhythm, which was reborn from the black sound of the album version, was amazing. It was only natural that the Vienna audience was so excited about it. On the other hand, "Back Chat" was not played unlike the previous day, which is a pity considering the good reaction of the audience that day, but as in Frankfurt, Freddie was probably not satisfied with it, and this time he repeatedly ad-libbed "Back Chat" in the middle of the encore "Another One Bites The Dust", which is also a rare and interesting development. The fact that such a free and thrilling development can be seen while still having great confidence in the album is also a major attraction of the Hot Space tour and the European leg. The first day of these two days was previously released under the title "STAYING POWER AND GLORY", but this time, by using the first generation sound source, we have achieved an improvement in sound quality that is incomparably more natural and warm. On the second day, we released the first generation sound source on "BEST CHAT", but the famous performance that was well-received even at that time has finally been released on CD. Please enjoy to your heart's content the famous performance and famous sound source that has an unshakable reputation as "the ultimate two days" of the Hot Space Tour among fan sites in various countries.
